I dont how sucessful Julius Randle can be in the NBA. His jumpshot is garbage and he is extremely ball dominant, he doesnt do much off the ball.

Andrew Harrison is a top 10 prospect being held back because Randle is so ball dominatant and such a &$#%#&@! off ball scorer.

I never liked Randle and his style but i understood the dude played "hard" and dominated…. He needs the ball in his hands to play "hard" and is NOTHING special on defense.

    Ill take Embiid over Randle.

Not sure if i agree with all of your knocks on Randle becuase i do believe he will be a really good player….However i do agree with u that i would take Embiid over him, I really like Embiid’s potential ceiling over Randles.

A better prospect or player? Because 07 Oden would eat Embiid alive.

PFT, you must have not been watching UK play this year. Nobody is holding either one of the Harrison twins back but themselves.  They are beyond lazy, play absolutely ZERO defense, slower than Christmas and can’t shoot for shit.  It’s like we have three Alex Poythress’s

There is no way Jo Jo is ahead of 07 Oden at this point nor will he be by years end. This kid is just learning how to play the game. The team that is going to take him has to be very patient but he is going to be  a stud imo.

While I agree with some of the Randle criticisms the main positive for me is the competiveness he brings and his will to win. Not everyone has that and its something that I think is in you or not.

I agree. Oden, the terrific prospect he was, also was an excellent college player. Embiid has the potential, but unlike Oden isn’t a college superstar, he is just unused potential at this point.

07 Oden was an absolute monster. There was a reason he was picked over KEVIN DURANT. Oden was a beast of a player and prospect in college.

I agree. A lot of people now question what the Blazers were thinking in drafting Oden over Durant, but that is only in hindsight. Oden was an incredible player and prospect. 07 Oden would be the #1 pick in this draft IMO.

I think he’d be number 1 in almost every draft in the last 30 years aside from Hakeem, Shaq, and LeBron.

Here we go with short memory. How is joel a better prospect then 07 oden? I am completely confused by that statement. Odens team went to the chip he avg what 15/10 n had 24/15 v fla with a front court of hortford/noah/richards who all played in the nba at one point. His ceiling is as high as anyone in the draft and size is a premium if he can reach it. Imo the sample size is too small to take over randle who can be at worst 2/3rd option in the league. Yes he has definciencies being ball/left hand/bulldoozing dominate etc but he is avg 20/10+ as n 18yr old in the SEC it will be hard for him to fallout the top 3 IMO if he measures well.

Im not so sure Randle will measure well though. And even looking at his post gme that everyone loves, beyond when he establishes great position due to his size, but when he actually tries to take on one or more players in the post, I see a lot of shots coming from low angles, or falling away from the basket. I know hes hitting them in college, but if he has to get so off balance to create separation in college, i can see him really struggling with that in the league.

If Embiid continues to improve over the course of the season…  which is very possible since he is so new to the game…  I would agree.  A huge, athletic center lends more to winning than a scoring power forward.

I love Embiid’s game.  Last week I made a topic saying that I would take Embiid over Randle, and surprisingly I didn’t get negged as much as I thought I would.

But saying you’d take Embiid over 07 Oden.  You’ve gone too far.

I love 07 greg oden, but I think that Embiid’s game, after 1 month of college, is more polished and balanced (offense/defense) than Greg after 1 month of college.

didnt greg oden break his shooting hand or wrist at the beginning of the season and come back to play using predominantly his off hand till his shooting hand healed?

Yes, Oden shot free throws with his left hand… finished at 63% on the year. I think that’s bloody remarkable.

I think he could go 3.  Teams always need a LEGIT center.  That’s what Embiid is.  Center size, athleticism, and the rest.  I think his "upside" is higher than Randle who might just be a Z Bo/Paul Millsap type guy.

I think Randle could go from anywhere from 2 to 5.  He is a beast of a power forward, but he isn’t that tall, long, or as athletic as some other guys.

I would go with Wiggins at 1 if he could play at shooting guard, then Parker, then Smart or Embiid with Julius Randle no lower than fifth.

This is a rare draft where you can make perhaps an all-NBA team out of one draft.  Smart has great point guard size, Wiggins would be a prototype 2 guard based on his size and length, Jabari Parker is an ideal small forward, Randle is your basic power forward, and Joel Embiid is a "high upside" center prospect.

Not sure about the rest of the draft, but I think it is at least 5 deep.  Tanking teams should get rewarded this year.  Teams just out of the playoffs won’t be — unless they can draft well.

I agree, this draft is at least 5 deep with players who can be at the all star-super star level.  Do not sleep on Exum though…  he should be in that group as well.  On top of these players I think there will be some high level players… maybe not all stars, but starters, who will go in the late first round.  That is how deep this draft is.

He needs the ball in his hands to be dominant?  Have you really watched him?  The dude dominates the offensive glass and only takes 10 shots a game.  And I’m going to guess 3 of those are putbacks or shots after an offensive rebound.

    I don’t know how that’s ball-dominant.

How does he compare with measurements to david lee? just bringing that up cuz although lee is far from elite or superstar status, he still has managed many 20/10 seasons (or close to) and doesnt have anywhere close to the athleticism or ball handling of randle and i think hes around that 6’8-6"10 region

Embiid might end up being the best prospect from this draft, period. But there is not nearly enough evidence to say that yet….

no need to premature all over yourself.
