Hopefully this will give those who have negative reviews on how he handles his kids a different perception now.

doubledribblerParticipantIf he can mix it up and be patient, he could probably make the team nearly unbeatable for years on end. You can’t blame him for wanting all the best players, but I think he needs to limit the number of them that come in and make sure guys earn their spot. Not just, if you come to UK I promise you will start. With that said, not sure how that affects who does decide to come in. I seriously think a lot of guys are afraid to come back because they may go from starting in year one to on the bench in year two and he usually plays 6-7 guys heavy minutes.
He has a good thing going, but he might be selling himself short on something better. Sure he had Davis in his championship season, but some other very important guys did not put their names into the draft because of the possible lockout. Quality veteran leadership is very underrated, especially when it comes to guys that actually have been able to play some meaningful minutes over the years.
Also, I am not surprised about people projecting Dakari as a first rounder. You don’t have to take much into account other than he is a center. Him and Embiid are 2 of the only known centers in this draft that I could think of.

MopgrassParticipantThe projected 1st round substantially lacks size. I know next year is supposed to make up for that, but I’m sure once the draft rolls around, teams will be rating a lot of big guys that escaped our radars. Happens every year. It’s hard for me to believe only one or two centers go the whole 1st round.

XYRYXParticipantIs see your point but have to disagree on one thing. Nurkic is a guy you shouldn’t sleep on. There is no way a team like the spurs would not draft someone like Nurkic late 1st and I wouldn’t be surprised if he actually goes late lotto – he can be this good one day imo. His fould trouble is concerning and he didn’t have much cometition but his great size and his surprisingly good offensive repertoire make him a legit Marc Gasol or Tiago Splitter kind of impact player to me.

SpartanGloryParticipantHow is he going to get rid of his one and done pitch, when that’s the type of player that he goes after? Players chose Calipari because he is good at ushering players to the NBA. If a player is good enough to be one and done, I doubt Calipari tries to convince them to stay. If he wants to convince players to stay he’ll have to go after players that should stay in college for a few years.

imAboutDatActionParticipantCal doesnt pitch one and done.
he simply recruits the best players in the nation, they just happen to to leave after one year. which is what happens when you recruit the best of the best.
he’s said alot that when he recruits kids, he tell them dont have the mindset you will only be there one year.
