McDunkinThe Bulls have been in contact with Brian Scalabrine this summer, as the team looks to fill out its roster with a perimeter shooter that would necessarily need many minutes.
Scalabrine is familiar with new Chicago head coach Tom Thibodeau from their time together with the Celtics.

RUDEBOY_Participant^^^^ok..didnt know that..
it seems like Kurt Thomas is asleep doing the regular season..Then wakes up during the playoffs…
I’ve seen Asik play..he might be a sleeper..0 - Posted on: Sat, 09/18/2010 - 9:01am #403792

JoeWolf1Yeah, he should be servicable off the bench, after seeing him in FIBA play I think he could give them 5 or 6 points and 4 or 5 rebs off the bench. Kurt Thomas is a warrior! He’s my favorite insanely old role player since Mutombo and Kevin Willis

Bossceo74ParticipantThe Bulls seriously need to take a look at another Duke sharpshooter since they missed out on JJ Redick in the offseason…….Jon Scheyer a Chicago native is still available as an undrafted free agent. He’s mentally smart offensively and defensively and with his team first attitude, he would fit in well perfect with the new look Bulls and their attitude. He’d be one of Thibs favorite players i guarantee! Just ask Coach K! C’mon Bulls pull the trigger on this one and invite him to training camp. Put him on the preseason roster and watch him flourish!

BothTeamsPlayedHardParticipantThey have Kyle Korver, Keith Bogans, C.J. Watson, and an invite to John Lucas III because Thibodeau liked him in Houston. Just because you like Jon Scheyer, it doesn’t mean he would fit any sort of role or need for the Bulls.
As for Scalabrine, he is better than the caricature he became with Boston. He is experienced with the defensive system Thibodeau wants to implement, and has a history of being able to go DNP-CD for weeks at a time and still be ready and semi-competent for when he is needed. If it came down to him or Chris Richard, he is probably the better option.
