llperezive read that elsewhere as well. Maybe a partial tear. Sucks if true. if that’s what it is, then there are basically 2 teams in the east this year.

GrandmamaParticipantI really hope he didn’t. If true, I feel so bad for him. He worked his ass off to get healthy, it just wouldn’t be fair. I’ve got my fingers crossed that it’s just a sprain.

IndianaBasketballParticipantThe more I look at the video, it looks like it’s probably just a sprain.
Regardless, it’s still a concern though. He wasn’t touched at all and just pivoted to turn up the court.

SeattleSuperChronicsParticipantIf it is true they should try not to win another game for the rest of the season. Bring Jabari back to Chicago. The nba is a military invasion this year.

GottaBeTheShoesParticipantMan, I hope not. But I got a feeling it is. He’s a hardworking, good kid, I can only hope if it is another ACL injury he can somehow make it back. Obviously he was feeling negative about his injury’s progress in some way even to the beginning of this season, so I take back any distaste I had for him for missing the playoffs (there was very little, of course).
Funny thing is, If the Bulls still had Nate Rob and Marco Bellinelli they’d most likely still be a 3 seed.. Of course I’m not sure Thibs could handle one more game with Nate.. They’re going to really struggle offensively now if they weren’t before.0 - Posted on: Fri, 11/22/2013 - 9:29pm #851935

Pack AttackParticipantFrom the replay it looks unlikely to be a full ACL tear. He took a couple of steps on it running downcourt after the initial trauma so hard to believe he ruptured an ACL again. Hopefully it’s just a sprain or at worst a partial meniscus or ligament tear. If that’s the case he might only miss 4-6 weeks depending on if they need to operate.
The more concerning aspect long-term is that it came from a simple change-of-direction with no contact. It certainly won’t do much to silence the injury-prone knocks. It really sucks, D-Rose is one of the best character guys in the game: humble, coachable, wants to win, and not arrogant despite being the youngest MVP ever. Fingers crossed for him.

slepchorParticipantI’ve torn my right leg’s ACL in a pick-up game, after some serious contact with a 300-pounder. Then again, two years after that, I had a small partial tear on my left leg, just pivoting under the basket. One thing is sure: It sucks. It can happen, but it’s a pity because I’m no pro and returned to the game after 5 months with some little gym work (though I normally played after 9 months or so). So when you think about the top level (personal trainers, years in the gym working out like a beast etc) and a huuuge time off the court, it’s just sad for the player D-Rose would have been, because let’s face it, almost nobody’s game is the same after an injury like that, let alone after two. Oh and he just ruined my fantasy team, but who cares. Just get better

thricethefunParticipantThe way Rose plays the game he is just a career ending injury waiting to happen. If it’s not this one it is bound to happen down the road. Sad to see because the guy has all the potential in the world.

Tongue-Out-Like-23ParticipantEven if it’s just a scare (hopefully), can Rose ever recover mentally from such a scare and serious injury?

HitsterParticipantI really hope that it isn’t as bad as his previous injury. D-Rose was an elite player pre injury and was gradually getting back towards that level after being off for 18 months. He took a cautious approach last season and if he had come back then and this had happened then everyone would have sad he returned too soon.
D-Rose did everything right in his rehab and even if it is only a 4 to 6 week break as has been suggested above, it could still set him back a fair bit.
I sincerely hope that he can return soon as I’d hate to think that we could be robbed of seeing this elite player reach his peak in the next few years. The one bit of hope I could offer if the injury is bad is that as a PG, D-Rose could perhaps refine his game and become more a pass first PG and become an elite 3 point scorer. But again lets hope we do see the MVP athletic scoring D-Rose back on an NBA court real soon!
I’m not a Bulls fan but this sort of thing transends teams as we all hope for the best for D-Rose.
