I don’t believe this team as constructed is good enough to win a title. The problem is that they have a superstar who at this point in his career they can’t run offense through in crunch time. There are just too many holes in his game that a well-coached team with the proper personnel and preparation can exploit. If you can keep him out of the paint the truth is he is just not very effective and the fact that he struggles so much from the line significantly limits his effectiveness as a primary ball-handler.
As a result, in situations where the bucks need someone to create a shot and get a bucket they are forced to rely on guys like Middleton and holiday. While both are very good players who can potentially fill that role in the regular season, neither is good enough to be the guy that can carry this team to a championship offensively. It hasn’t and just isn’t going to work. And history has shown that you almost always need a high level shot creator who can make plays when the offense breaks down in order to win a title.
Of the players out there that could potentially be available, Beal is undoubtedly the guy that could best fill that role. His game would compliment Giannis almost perfectly and he apparently wants to play with him. Of course trading for him won’t be easy. For starters, no one even knows if he is currently available and even if he were there would be stiff competition for his services from other teams. Who knows exactly how much Milwaukee would have to give up? But if they are serious about do everything they can to win a championship while the window is open, this is something they absolutely have to at least pursue imo.

I believe Washington says Beal is off the table unless they get an offer they can’t refuse. It’s still early. Your Bucks assessment thus far in the season is spot on though.
