IndianaBasketballParticipantBucks cut G James, saying he has European offer
2 hours, 2 minutes agoMILWAUKEE (AP)—The Milwaukee Bucks have cut Dominic James to allow the former Marquette standout the chance to play in Europe.
Bucks general manager John Hammond said Friday that James has an offer to play professionally overseas. Hammond did not name the European club, but said the Bucks were pleased with his performance this summer and in training camp so far.
James was one of four point guards in Bucks camp and the only one without a guaranteed contract.
The 5-foot-11 point guard signed with the Bucks on Monday after finishing second in assists, third in points and fourth in steals all time for Marquette.
James was the Big East Freshman of the Year in 2006 and considered entering the NBA draft in 2007. He was not picked in the draft in June.

IndianaBasketballParticipantI’m a fan of James and wanted to see him in the NBA this season… I know that’s his dream, but I’m sure he got a nice offer from a club in Europe.

llperezhis stock seemed to drop the longer he stayed in school. My guess is the euro team wanted him to come over immedaitely and James was told by the Bucks that he had little chance of making the team, so he went over seas and got paid.

QHaynes20I think he will eventually end up as a NBA backup PG later in his career.

JNixonParticipantI dont, he has too many weaknesses in his game. And he hasnt improved them much since his sophomore year when he 1st declared for the draft, and got bad feedback.

bigballa3jjParticipantgood for him, he’s getting paid and he’ll actually get to play instead of getting DNP’s or being sent down to the NBDL

Lemons4LifeParticipantHe will get more experience and eventually as QHaynes said become a good PG in the NBA. When he gets back he could have a year like Aaron Brooks.
