Mr. HookShotParticipantAn earlier post discussed the impact Brad Underwood has on the success of Stephen F. Austin, and how much their program will deteriorate when he will leave. Those fears have just become reality, as Gary Parrish reports he is moving to Oklahoma State to become their new headcoach.
What does this mean for SFA? And how much will the Cowboys benefit from having this guy on their bench? SFA impressed me and most others this NCAA tournament, especially with their ball movement, and it will be interesting to see what he can do with the Cowboys. They have a couple of nice players in Juwan Evans (FR. 13ppg) and Leyton Hammonds (JR) coming back.

Dazzling Dunks and Basketball BloopersParticipantExcellent coach and very solid hire for OSU. He definitely always got the most out of his teams at SFA. It will be interesting to see if he can get guys who he didn’t recruit at OSU to buy in the same way to his system, especially at first. There will likely be an adjustment period initially, but they got themselves a fantastic coach for the long haul.

ph90702That’s why they’re getting more than half of their teams into the NCAA Tournament on an annual basis.

SubZeroParticipantSelf, Kruger, Huggins, Smart, Dixon, Underwood, Drew, Weber, Tubby…all quality coaches. I don’t know anything about Steve Prohm, but ISU is a 4 seed so he must be pretty good

warson24He was Murray State’s Underwood, so he should be on that list about great coaching hires. School record-tying 31 wins (school-best 23-0 start), a top-10 national ranking, appearance in the NCAA Tournament with the Racers.
