Chris Bosh is attempting to make a full-time transition from power forward to center with non-traditional size for the position. "Quite frankly, it was just different (then)," said Bosh. "You’re 24 or 23 years old going up against dudes with hair on their chests. It’s different with kids. They’re going to football practice, and they got babies. I’m trying to play against these grown men and I still had Simulac on my breath."With the exception of Dwight Howard and Andrew Bynum, most centers currently playing are basically power forwards.

Bosh said the move of sliding to center is "overanalyzed" because the evolution at center.

"The game was different back then," he said. "The game changes every now and then. At that point, it was all about girth. You have to be big, Anthony Mason and Charles Oakley and Patrick Ewing and Vlade Divac. It’s different now. The game is a lot faster. If you’re big, we’re going to run right by you.

 He’s making a case for himself, but it’s not that the game evolved because you needed to be small and fast, but more because there were a lack of skilled, atheltic 7 footers coming out of college and high school.  The two best centers in the game are 7′ 285 lbs and 6’11” 270 lbs.

Actually, in addition to what I said earlier, the center position is about 20 lbs heavier as a whole than it was in 1992. I did a comparison between heights and weights of centers player over 25 mpg and the results prove the opposite as to what Bosh is saying. Again, he’s making a case for himself, it’s not like he’s gonna say "Im too skinny!"

 I doubt he’ll guard any real premier centers in the league. He would get fouled out of the game in the first half against Bogut, Dwight, Bynum, Chandler and even by Perkins.

LOL at mentioning Mason and Oakley when talking about the center position. I’m not sure Bosh really knows what he is talking about to be honest. Personally I think he should do fine at center, sure he isn’t a true center (and despite what he says he does not have the size or physicality to bang with Howard, Bynum, Bogut, Hibbert, Jefferson, Gasol, Garnett, Chandler, Cousins, Gortat or Pekovic down low) but he can play the position at least as well as Bargniani and Brook Lopez have been.

 Man, Bosh is so lucky he’s in the Eastern Conference, he’d get abused by Marc Gasol, DeMarcus Cousins, Andrew Bogut, Al Jefferson, Pekovic, Duncan (who plays C now), Gortat (to some extent), Kaman and of course Dwight. All of those guys can score the ball in the post and get a guy like Bosh into foul trouble.

In the Eastern playoff teams he’s got Horford, who’s a PF, Chandler, Valanciunas, Zeller, Hibbert, KG (again, PF), Noah and whoever Orlando have. Bynum and Brook Lopez are the only low-post scorers in the East who are legitimately C sized that he might have to face over the course of a series.

Garnett, Chandler, and Zeller (Zeller included in this is just weird but shows the lack of talent in the East) aren’t even back-to-basket kind of players either. Bosh can get away playing the 5 in the East, but I agree out West he would get eaten up by the bigs on just about every team.
