What are the odds that Boozer is traded to the Bucks for Micheal Redd, or the Kings for Kevin Martin, or Suns for Amare Stoudamire.
Here are the scenarios for each trade:
    Kings trade: http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=m4xnkx
    Bucks trade: http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=nkaj8d
    Suns trade: http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=o5joua

I know the jazz are wanting to save money, and both Amare and Redd make more money than Boozer and Miles do combined, but with Harpring expected to retire, all three of the trades actually end up saving the Jazz money. The Bucks trade would end up saving them about 4 million, the Suns trade: about 5 million, and the Kings trade: about 8 million.

When is boozer gonna be traded anyway? He has been on the trading block, since the off season started, and he still has not been traded. (Which is a big surprise to me.) I expected him already traded by early to mid July. Trade talks have definitely quieted down a bit. What are your thoughts on the possibilities of any of these trades happening?

Boozer stays in Utah until at least the trading deadline if not the whole season. Even though the relationship between him and the Jazz is shot, he should play as hard as ever because it is a contract year. But the Jazz probably don’t want to take back any long term contracts because they want to be able to resign Okur and Brewer when they become free agents.

As for the trades you mentioned, I don’t think the Kings are looking to unload Martin for a guy who will steal minutes from Thmpson and then probably split after one year. The Bucks might deal Redd, but I thought he made more money then Boozer and has two years left on his deal which would make the Jazz doubtful to make that trade. And for the Amare trade, I think the Suns will end up giving Amare the big extension at some point this year. Amare>Boozer so I don’t see the Suns pulling that trigger.

Keep in mind, the other thing Boozer has working against him is his reputation for loyalty and commitment. He lied to Cleavland to get more money from Utah then he opted into his contract this summer with Utah and then immediately started talking about going elsewhere. His reputation is not of the highest caliber right now. Even Pat Riley kinda called him out for it a couple weeks ago.

@liperez22 Redd does earn about 5 million more than Boozer, and about 2 million more than Boozer and Miles combined, which is why I included the fact that Harpring will probably retire this season, which will take another 6.5 million off of their total salaries. Please refer to original post 2nd paragraph.
I think the Bucks trade is more likely to happen, plus I think that Redd will like the fact that he is on a team that makes the playoffs consistently every year, and has the knicks lottery pick this year. That considered, Martin might want to play for us instead, but I agree with you on that idea. As for Amare, I honestly don’t know what is going with him and the Suns. I’ve heard he is on the trading block, the potential Warriors trade, the extension talks, but nothing is set in stone yet.
Because of Boozer’s situation and his track record with the Cavs and the Jazz, I think he deserves to go to a bad team. Maybe then he will learn his lesson, and keep his mouth shut. Once the trade does happen though he will most likely sign with another team, via 2010 free agency, unless the suns trade goes through. He might decide to resign with that team. And I think the Jazz just wanna forget the whole Boozer ordeal and move on as fast as possible, of course that will never happen until he is traded.

I’m sure the Jazz would love to just move on, but they have also said that they are not gonna just give him away for an expiring contract, so I really don’t know where he might go. My honest guess is that some team will step up their offer around the trade deadline if they think they can make a run in the playoffs with Boozer. I think the Jazz would want an expiring contract with a young promising prospect or draft pick included. I don’t think they will look to bring back on a long term deal even if it was for a quality player. And just exchanging expiring salaries probably won’t interest them unless it makes them better next season.

I honestly don’t have a real clue right now, but the three teams you mentioned are all non playoff teams except maybe Phoenix, and I doubt a rebuilding team like Milwaukee or Sacramento would want to bring in Boozer if he is gonna bounce after one year. It seems more likely that a playoff team would bring him in if they thought it could push them over the top.

Bucks did all this to save money and get young plus they want to get Bogut more touches. Bogut will enjoy playing with Jennings.

Utah only has 4 possible trade partners IMO…..Bulls, Heat, Knicks, Nets. The only problem is none of these teams have the cap space where the trade would allow Utah to save cash. A third team with cap space has to get involved….somebody like the Thunder, Kings, or Grizzlies. This is the only way a trade is going to go down.

@gatorheels, this is the first time that I have heard that the Nets could also be a possible suitor for Boozer. Who would they offer for him? The only people I can think of are Devin Harris(but I don’t the Jazz would be interested in his services since they already have a star point guard in Dwill, and nor would the Nets be giving up the only all star on their team for someone that will take minutes away from Yi. Yi is also a possibility, but then again will he live up to his potential? The only other possibility is Brooke Lopez, which as a Jazz I would not mind having, but then again Boozer can not play center and I’m not quite can if Yi can either, so If the nets offer Lopez, then they would have no legitimate center. So the only possible person they could offer Utah is Yi, I am just not sure it is worth it since he may not live up to his potential.

@dwilljazz8- This is an example of how a trade would work with the Nets

Jazz get: Courtney Lee, Yi Jianlian

Kings get: Josh Boone, Tony Battie, 1st Round Pick from the Nets, 2nd round pick from the Jazz

    Nets get: Boozer, Donte Greene

This trade works financially. The Jazz get 2 quality young pieces who both could provide some help this season. If the Jazz don’t like these players then that is fine because both of their contracts expire after the season so the Jazz can just let them leave. This saves the Jazz a bunch of money. This way they don’t get killed by the luxury tax. Utah would be thrilled to get 2 young players & saving cash in the process. Utah is more concerned with saving money then getting a star in return for Boozer. The Kings get some much needed depth in the post. Also both Boone & Battie have expiring contracts so this doesn’t hurt the Kings as far as the type of cash they will have for 2010 free agency. Kings also get a couple draft picks for their troubles in taking on a little extra salary this season. Nets obviously get the player they need in Boozer. A core of Harris, Boozer, & Lopez would be easy to build around & would make them a solid team.

Good explantation Gator and i know that its is just an example but i dont think the Nets GM would give up c. lee, Yi (future voted in by chinese ball fans all star) and a 1st round pick for c.”i dont play any defence” boozer… i think the Nets are better serviced playing out the season and waiting til next yrs free agency period and making a move then without having to give up a couple of solid young players
