IndianaBasketballParticipantJoel Przybilla re-injures himself, needs more surgery after slip in shower
March 7, 2010 · Portland Trail BlazersTrail Blazers center Joel Przybilla will undergo surgery on his right patella tendon in the next few days.
Przybilla re-ruptured his right patella tendon Saturday morning after slipping in the shower at his home in Milwaukee, Wis.
He returned to Portland today to undergo an MRI, which revealed the rupture.
Przybilla originally ruptured the tendon in a Dec. 22 game at Dallas. He underwent season-ending surgery on Dec. 24 and was in Milwaukee rehabilitating the injury.
No timetable is available for his return to the court.

IndianaBasketballParticipantThis is a shame… The center position for Portland suffers significant injuries on and off the court.
I think there’s a good chance they re-sign Camby this summer and move Pryzbilla’s expiring contract next season… He’ll be on the shelf all of the summer and probably the entire first half of the season.

joecheck88Participanti feel bad portland. not only do they lose both their seven footers but numerous other guys have missed time and they have lost a year of b roy at the top of his game and a year to build more chemistry. i dont think portland had the players to win a championship but i think with those guys and full seasons without injuries that team could have made it to a conference finals but they havent had a season without a major injury. and even though everyone wants to label oden a bust he can still at worst be a better version of brendan haywood and any team will miss that kind of production.

tli232Hmm… This is interesting. I wonder if a player dies, does his contract come off the books?
