nateoak10ParticipantBoth guys are on the block and rumors say the Wolves want an athletic big for Love and that if the Heat keep Wade Beasley is gone. Could this be the trade both teams want? Just a suggestion

bobbybParticipantBeasley is more def more athletic by why risk it, Beasley will be back in rehab in no time. He will end up on some reality tv show. Beasley has no disire to win

tdmillesParticipantits became pretty apparent that the wolves need to cut ties with one of these guys and i think its more likely that jefferson will be the one to go. love is nearly on par with jefferson as far as production and is making about 9 million less per year. if they do trade jefferson, that means that there would basically be no one left from the KG trade and they essentially traded kevin garnett for like 50 wins in 3 seasons. thats pathetic.

nateoak10ParticipantI’d rather have Love but thats not how they feel, Love to them is a good trade piece at this point

tdmillesParticipantseriously do they have a clue how to run a team? its no wonder rubio would rather chill overseas and win titles in the euro league

tdmillesParticipantwhat about love to the warriors for anthony randolph? is randolph on the block?
0 - Posted on: Sun, 05/16/2010 - 9:01pm #316744
nateoak10ParticipantHe’s available just like Monta for a big time star. Someone like Bosh, otherwise no Love for AR wouldn’t really work fit wise

ilike.panochasParticipantIm not a T-Wolves fan so I don’t follow them as much, but why is Kevin Love on trading block? Am I missing something? Hes the best draft pick they’ve had, and thats saying alot considering their in the lottery every year.
They have a 3 first round pics this year if im not mistaken. Why not just draft Evan Turner then at #16 pick draft an athletic PF such as Whiteside or Larry Sanders, and keep Kevin Love, if their really trying to be athletic up front.

boomdizzalParticipantminnesota spends 2 first round pick on pgs in 2009, drafts kevin love when they have al jeff…. how do these GM’s get a job? trading for beasly would unclog that jam, of the 2 slow pfs, but then they get a player who mite be out of the league in a couple years if he doesnt shape up.

getacombI think this really interesting, i really like Minny and want to pull a Bill Simmons and try and take their GM position over haha. What i would do is keep jefferson, he’s still relatively young and can ball when healthy, and i still want to protect my ass from that horrible KG trade. so i trade Love to MIA but only if i get both Beasley and Chalmers, otherwise Pat can go f himself. Then ur set at the 3 with Brewer and Beasley, cuz i think mike is not a 4, he’s too small. I’d make him work on his foot speed and D this offseason, otherwise i’d hire someone to whoop his ass if he gets outta line. I’d smoke some chronic with him so he knows im a real person jus like him, and try to get him on the right path, he’s got way too much talent. Now with that draft pick, I’m 90% sure i want mr Turner but i’d take a look at Cousins, cuz then i’d have a lot of beef inside. I’ll just take Turner and settle for what could be a B-Roy baller, which aint bad. Now on draft day, i’d go ahead and try to package those picks for a higher one, and maybe throw in Sessions cuz i don’t see much in him, maybe for Indiana’s number 10 pick take Whiteside, Big Monty or Udoh, whoever is available and can bulk up the front line. bring jonny flynn off the bench as Jet Terry type, and keep Rubio’s rights and hope one day we can get him over here. Now u got:
PG Chalmer, Flynn (Ricky) SG Turner SF Beasley, Brewer one of those rookie bigs, and Big AL as pieces for the future and i think u have a solid core, with probably a top 15 pick next year, and some sold FA moves, next thing you know, you got a winner

TyroberParticipantwhat do they need with chalmers? if they include clambers in the trade then sessions has to go.

joecheck88ParticipantNot as much to tempt beasley in Minnesota. I love Beasley’s game but at this point it looks like he is a sixth man that can create mismatches ala Lamar Odom(not comparing games, just I think beasley could play a similar role on a team.)

stanford hoopsbeasley has no desire to win?..and you know this how?…come on youre a fan just like the rest of us you have zero idea if any player has a desire to win or not

mperry32Participantswapping beasley for love might make some sense on the court because miami will need size since almost everyone on the team is a free agent. beasley would fit in better in the triangle rambis brought from l.a. because he could face up and operate in the mid-post/elbow area. off the court, it would be a disaster because love will be steady and productive for the next 10 years while beasley has proven he can not keep his affairs in order. bet riley is kicking himself for not going w/mayo

stanford hoopsbasically some of ya’ll are saying beasley will never get his self together even though hes young and he’s only been in the leauge for 2 years??…hmmmm do ya’ll recall zach randolph when he came into the leauge?..gun charges fights etc?…how about stephen jackson? barkley?…yeah theres no way a young kid can change it just never happens

joecheck88Participanti agree he can change, and going to a place like minnesota could speed that process up. i dont think he will ever be a leader and number 1 option but the man can play and just needs a coach that has confidence in him and will let him play through mistakes. minnesota would be perfect because they wont be good next year anyway and he can get playing time and play through turnovers and missed assignments.
0 - Posted on: Mon, 05/17/2010 - 6:12am #316838
stanford hoops^^^^ i agree. the miami coach didnt let him play through the stuff rookies /young players go through. rose got to play through the bad defense and missed shots. westbrook got to play through the many many turnovers and missed shots as well. curry, jennings, evans and most if not all top 3 rookies got to play through mistakes

IndianaBasketballParticipantI think it’d be a bad trade for Minnesota.
I like Beasley. I think he’s struggled playing with Dwayne Wade, who’s a ball dominant player. He’s been on a short leash, unlike a lot of other young players in his class. He does need to mature, but he’s young. I think he can and will.
However, there’s no question that Love has been better in the first two years of their careers. I think Minnesota can get a better deal for Love elsewhere. Unless they’re confident they can turn Beasley into the player he should be.

mikeyvthedonParticipantIf LeBron went to Miami. I am sure he would love playing with Kevin, so would Dwyane Wade. Kevin has the same defensive problems as Beasley however, but from a basketball IQ stand point, and this is not just because of Kevin’s race, he has one of the highest in the league. It would be so much fun to have a rebounding and passing big like Kevin playing with Dwyane and LeBron, they would still need other pieces, but it could work. If they do go after Chris Bosh however, which I think is more plausible, than the Kevin trade would make little sense. I do think both Beasley and Love could be traded, and maybe even possibly for each other, but I have a feeling a 3rd team would be involved. I want Kevin to get out of Minnesota, just because I do not think he has a role on that team right now, and they are just a mess. Beasley so far has not lived up to billing, but if you make him a third option scorer and work on his conditioning, he will be a solid contributor. Maybe not what you want out of a #2 pick, but he has talent, and I think he is less of a ticking time bomb injury concern than Kevin. Hopefully both of them have good off-seasons and land in situations best suited to their strengths.

DaGuywhodidurmaParticipantill take love over beasley anyday. love ca be a double-double guy for a long time. beasley is a catch and shoot guy. plus you cant teach size love is like 6″9 and 240lbs beasley is 6″7 (and not serge ibaka athletic so he cant make up for his lack of size.). love can be an impact player in the post for a contender and can actually be a missing piece for a playoff team, he hustles, rebounds and makes open shots. beasley is a slow small forward with average shooting ability for a wing player. not to mention he has limited handles. in conclusion beasley is a tweener who can scoe while love is a solid power forward.

llperezlove is better hten beasley. ANd he fits the triangle sytem better. When Minnesota says they want an athleitc big, i htink they mean a center who can run and defend while jefferson goes to work on the low box. Beasley is not a center and he isnt much of a defender. He would need the ball from jefferson to be efective. Not liking this trade for minnesota.

tdmillesParticipantdoesn’t have a first round pick next year … they owe the clippers a first rounder that was lottery protected up to this year … next year there is no restrictions on that pick i think … DEFINITELY worth it because after all they got marko jaric from the clippers in that deal

stanford hoopsim still holding judgement on beasley untill he plays for someone else. so far love has been better then him although hes also had wayy more leway. some of that has to do with the coach and some has to do with them having haslem there whos a pros pro and doesnt make many mistakes so you know hes gonna get minutes. beasley haas the talent to be up there with the top guys in his class but it remains to be seen if he will live up to that talent and him changing teams will answer that question

JNixonParticipantI think the 76ers are going to try and trade Iguodala to the T’Wolves for Love. It’s a possible trade, but at the same time it’s a rumor. I suck at thinking of trade scenarios by myself lol, so I’m just going by what I’ve heard.
