I’ve never been a big Rivers fan but as of late I’m more and more sold.  With his height as a legit SG size and with his first step and handle being world class I’m really hoping he slips to Suns but it’s doubtful.

Austin shows some hops here that he didn’t during his time at Duke.  This is obviously a pro-am and defense isn’t the top priority during these games, but he does look more explosive.

Quickness and handles looked good, we know he can shoot, maybe as he matures he’ll get even stronger and more explosive, his mentality is a positive and he should be a very good pro.

the only thing I worry about with Rivers is his inability to play without the ball in his hands

I knew he had hops but DEAR LORD he is absolutely PUNCHING it on these kids (like someone said, pro-am defense–but still!!).  Combine his shot with those hops and his handle and you can easily have an offensive juggernaut in the league.  His defense however…..we’ll see how dedicated he is on that side of the ball

Idk about this video…it was taken last summer and it’s weird he didn’t really show off these kind of hops in college. Even when he was on a fastbreak and attempted a dunk, they weren’t really impressive. Maybe cause he was too scared to mess up?

Idk but I think the dunks in this video could be misleading in regards to his athleticism. He doesn’t really hang in the air or really get that high up.

They only reason why they look impressive is because he throws them down with swag lol.

I like this young man as a potentionally lethal weapon in the Association. Been a fan since he was Junior in highschool. Hope he doesn’t get stuck with a dick for a coach. Hoping the Rockets trade Lowry for Drummond and trade one of the picks and a player to be named for Rivers. Tired of swinging for the fences for players that don’t want to be here, I would rather Morey start with some youngsters and let’em. Plant them here and let the fruit grow. Being that LeBron just raised Olajawon fee for post training, the Rockets probably can get a discount and send young Drummond to the Dream for Kickboxing, Karate Kid, and RockyIV training. Kobe was rated high coming in, but no one thougth he would have been who he ended up being. Kobe didn’t have more talent than TMac or Vince, but he had more desire and an uncanny obsession with being Michael Jordan. This kid measured fine and to think he’s still a teenager with room to grow. If he grows an inch and get stronger, you can pencil him in as a perrenial all star, or even better. That’s just my opinion

Rivers,Robinson,PJ3 are going to serve dudes in the NBA with dunks. Mark my words. They are going to love how spread out the D is and the help is going to be miles away or not there cause guys who don’t miss from three are gonna make the help stay put.

I hate Dook but I give respect where respect is due. When this guy lit my Tarheels up in Chapel Hill and hit that crazy buzzer beater over Zeller it shut me up. I was so stunned all I could say ‘Good game young man, well done.’ Thats a huge compliment to a Dookie coming from someone who was born a Tarheel in a family of Tarheels. The young man has a vast array of offensive weapons and will utilize them to ensure he plays in he league for a long time.

Rivers can’t play without the ball in his hands.  He has had the ball in his hands all throughout high school and his one year at Duke.  He can’t utilize screens and doesn’t move well without the ball.  This is something he desperatlet needs to work on to succeed in the NBA.

allthe things that are said can be imporved on, but at the end of the day or shot clock when things break down he can do one thing at an elite level and that is get to the rim by his own handle

This is why he reminds me a lot of OJ Mayo. I personally think he’s going to have a tough time in the NBA until he gets better at these things because he’s not good enough to be a ball dominant superstar type of player like a Wade, Roy, LeBron, etc.

He measured 6′ 5", but I still think he plays more like a tweener. Will be very interesting to see what kind of player he develops into. He has potential to be really good.

He didn’t show that kind of dominance in college because the Pro-Am is a giant pick-up game. I’ve seen UNC, State, and Duke scrubs look like allstars in that thing.

i think he can be a lot better then mayo he’s bigger and tad bit more athletic and and has elite handles and will be able to the rim, yeah if you want to say he doesn’t finish well at the rim but unlike oj he will get to the free throw line
