He plays within the system, has nice shot, does a little bit of everything, like I said he reminds me of Tayshaun Prince. I don’t see future hall-of-famer, but I do see a player that will be a no.2 on good team. You need a block he can get it, he’s sneaky with steals, and takes care of the boards. If he were at school that had very little depth like Arizona he probably would be scoring 25 a game and be a top five pick but since he’s on deep team like Gonzaga , he’s between 15-20 in this years draft. I hope yesterdays’ game was sign of things to come, because I know he can play at that level every game and if that happens the zags are going deep in march.

I have him in my farm system in my dynasty bball league, and from what I’ve seen, you’re right he can do it all. The only problems I see with the kid are he tends to have a laziness about him and also, he seems to have a bit of an attitude problem. Two features that will find yourself bouncing from team to team and sitting on the end of the pine in the league. Hopefully this isn’t the case….

but to say that on a team like arizona he would score more points is crazy. even in a down year arizona is still way more talented and deep than gonzaga. it was a good hypothetical but to use arizona is simply untrue. arizona on a whole has produced some of best pros in the nba over the last 10 years, probably right behind north carolina and uconn. jordan hill and chase budinger are far more talented than heytvelt, pargo and daye. bouldin and micah downs are good players but nic wise (u of a’s 3rd best player) is better. hopefully arizona makes the tournament and then we can see who is better them or gonzaga. gonzaga has a nice sos right now (6th) but by february no way will they be higher in the rpi than arizona.

Daye is good but it’s hard to get a good read on him, because of team depth and the fact that he sometimes looks like he’s just coasting out there. Has the make up to be really good but needs to be more assertive to take over the game at times. Has all the skills you want in a 6’11 guy. Doesn’t have that dog in him yet, looks like a good complimentary player. Or this might the kind of guy that is just a better pro than college player.so the jury is out to see if he’s a star player or just a piece to the puzzle.

Austin Daye reminds me more of Rashard Lewis than Tayshaun Prince. I think if he stays in college one more year, becomes Gonzaga’s vocal point on offense, and gain more weight, he’ll really develop into a top 10 pick for the 2010 draft. If he decides to leave for the 2009 NBA Draft, then I see him riding a NBA bench near you. lol

I think he’s more like Durant than Prince. his shooting stroke is incredible for being 6’10” and he’s very fluid offensively. Defensively, he’s got a ways to go. Just like Durant did at Texas, he relies on his ridiculous length to get deflections, blocks, and boards. He won’t be able to do that in the NBA and will have to start working hard on D.

Don’t see the prince comparison except they are long light skin african-americans guys. There games are very different.

I compare him to a taller slightly less athletic george gervin, gervin never filled out but weight training wasnt stressed as much back then either, i think he’s gonna pan out to be a good third option for some team realistically but i think that he has the ability to be a star but he does seem lazy but hes more fundamentally sound, if prince had dayes skill set or daye had prince’s intensity, thatd be a site to see
