ya, but other then that the dunk contest is gonna blow ass. it’s got 3 big men who are (other than howard) usually notorious for being uncreative. javale mcgee and serge ibaka? REALLY? Griffin is a no brainer, but i honestly wouldn’t have even considered any of the others. It’s clearly a set up so that the hometown hero (kinda) can get a W in front of his fans (kinda). pisses me off honestly.

And I think the NCAA dunk contest has been better for like 5 years straight, however I find seeing players you actually know something about dunk a tad more entertaining. You can at least root for someone.

I’m kinda disappointed with the choices. Jennings in a dunk comp fresh off of foot surgery? They should’ve just thrown in D Rose or let Shannon Brown have a second chance. And after that monster dunk on Gary Neal, JR Smith should’ve been given some consideration.

J.R. Smith should replace Jennings, how can a guy not even playing a month before the dunk contest even be allowed to be in it. And Mcghee shoud have been fined and suspended for that horrible decision to try to take off from the freethrow line against Sacramento…..

This is a set up for Blake to win like look at his competition. Ibaka can dunk out of this world, but nothing flashy or creative just great in game dunks. McGee is a clown and will attempt stuff he can’t pull off, i’m hoping he jumps off a trampoline and never lands…ever…. and Brandon Jennings is actually a dark horse he could win it this year because he got hops and more importantly then anything he is super creative.
I would of loved to see Michael Beasley in it because him and Griffin had an epic dunk contest in high school.
And Dalembert dunked from the foul line in game before so it’s not impossible McGee just didn’t pull it off.
James White would own the dunk contest if he were in it. And McDunkin is right the NBDL does have a better competition with better dunkers.
Why are their only 4 players? That in itself is corny.

I say they start mixing it up 4 from the NBA and 4 from the NBADL.
This would force any NBA player involved to bing their A game

I dont know… Vince Carter is the greatest in game dunker I’ve ever seen. The poster he made every gaeme he was healthy for… for 4 years… were simply, unrivaled.

I agree with Mkadoza’s list except I’d replace Westbrook with Rose. Rose is an amazing dunker and I haven’t seen amazing dunkers in the dunk contest for quite awhile. Last time was 2008 with Superman aka Dwight Howard, ever since then the Dunk contest has been LAME. Griffin is good but lets get better dunkers then Jennings, Ibaka, and McGee. McGee is the only real challenge for Griffin but even that’s not a big challenge for him.

I mean im not going to say replace Westbrook with Rose because Westbrook is just a freak of nature also but please watch this video from 17 seconds to 27 seconds. These two dunks by Rose were in the same game, ON CONSECUTIVE PLAYS. Like after that first dunk he literally steals the ball and does the 2nd one which just happened to be the state championship game. I dont think Ive ever seen two better highlights in consecutive plays EVER. I dont recall seeing one player make 2 highlights this big in the same game since….oh yea Blake Griffin vs the Knicks
Rose is just so crafty and has such good body control I feel he is perfect for the dunk contest. GET ROSE IN THE DUNK CONTEST AT LEAST ONCE!
