i’m not sure how the salaries line up, but the knicks could throw in a top 10 future protected pick in addition to KP. I’d also be happy to throw in some additional assets to aquire Kawhi, just not this year’s pick.

I wouldn’t do that trade if I’m the Knicks..No gurantee Kawhi re-signs..and dude super quite not sure he would like the NY media and vice versa.

I don’t think anyone would consider a trade for KP until you see how the injury has affected him. He’s 7’3", it could totally change everything if he can’t run or move laterally as he did before. I think worst case he still becomes a huge traditional 5, but I wouldn’t go near him at the moment.

you mean a back to the basket, post up 5? I think that would be interesting if he puts on more mass, he has the height for it.

The Spurs: Wait until they at least see the first half of the season of K.P.

The Spurs also do one last check with K.L that things can’t be repaired or what it will take to fix the issues-Like old and average at best lineup..Take away the system and see what I mean.

The Spurs at least require one more asset to get some value for K.L if he has said he wants out. As Kawhi is a Finals MVP and defensive player of the year vs Porzingas having not achieved anything yet..

However the Knicks should do the following:

See what state K.L is in(injury wise) and if he would re-up before any deal goes further-See Harden to Houston to what I mean.

See what K.P is like health wise(seems a little fragile if you ask me) and will he re-up as his brother has threatend the Knicks in some interviews.

See  what Direction their new Coach wants to go and get him pieces to fit-Keep the better fit of K.P or go for K.L.

Me personally if I was the Spurs I would either try sell Kawhi on the vison/plan- better than take a discount and we will get some average players at best, as this team is starting to mirror the 07 Cavs and we all saw how that went..

Or move him this offseason as for as much as possible which maybe a better deal out there than K.P(if you are re-tooling that is vs Rebuilding). Because I see Pop retiring very soon and its better to get something and go rebuild/re-tool than have a K.D happen to you(but without the star to carry your franchise).
