marcusfizer21Participantthis is an off topic conversation.. I just need help from you guys… nflandcollegefootball.com contacted me on my job application.. they are hiring me to be a recruiting manager.. any help would be appreciated… they recently contacted me on my odesk account and I need some answers and suggestions from you guys… I hope you could give a response…
Thank you for applying for the recruiter position here at Nflandcollegefootball.com. We are very excited about our results so far this football season and plan on increasing our market share going into next season.
We strongly believe that we are only as good as our teams of writers. We are looking to expand our team to over 70 writers who write on a consistent basis. Currently we have 7. Our current staff of writers receives no compensation for the articles they write. They simply write as fans voicing their opinions on their favorite team. As a Recruiting Manager this will be your biggest challenge, finding people to write for the pure enjoyment of voicing their opinion.
We have had success using craigslist ads in different cities to have fans to write about different teams. We also believe that contacting local colleges will be a huge opportunity for the right recruiter. College student with a career in journalism that are sports fans are looking for a resume builder, this would be a great opportunity for them.
We train our writers how to become SEO/SEM experts, and other various techniques that professional journalist require. Going forward we will also be issuing contest as an incentive for writers to focus on making quality post in a frequent basis.
Another opportunity to recruit writers is from small, low traffic blogs. This could be an opportunity for these writers to blog for a larger website and get their name out in this industry.
These are some of the ideas that we think can be successful in terms of recruiting. As a recruiting manager you will be responsible for dealing directly with the Project Manager and the owner of the site directly.
In your response, please state as a Recruiting Manager any additional ideas you may have to bring more writers to our team, and more importantly to keep these writers blogging for us consistently. Also based on your current bid, how many writers will you be able to bring to the table.I’m excited and nervous at the same time because I don’t how to respond to this yet… Any helpful suggestions will really be appreciated… thanks

IndianaBasketballParticipantSo basically you’d be recruiting people to come blog on this site? Aran is going to eat you, chew on you for a few seconds and then spit you out lol… For trying to steal his users lmao.
Just to throw out a side note… IF you’re good enough, Aran does invite users from this site to write articles.
I think you should take the job. Will you get paid for this? And do you set your own hours? Like how does it work?

marcusfizer21ParticipantIndiana, that’s the worst case scenario man… I know Aran is gonna eat my alive…haha.. well, I have been interested in writing on this site, but I haven’t received any indication from the man upstairs… Yeah, I get paid but I still have to negotiate on my price… I believe the hours are set by the applicants themselves…

IndianaBasketballParticipantI think you should go for it man. You get to work from home too, right? So that’s sweet. It’s like getting paid to do a hobby.

marcusfizer21ParticipantExactly… And I get to write about sports which is something I know more about than gardening or painting or any boring stuff that some of my friends are writing about in their paid jobs… thanks man… 🙂

IndianaBasketballParticipantI’ve been doing my research lol. This is my first time doing fantasy, so I don’t know what I’m doing. I spent like 10-15 mins yesterday trying to figure out how to change my team’s name from "Team 6". Still didn’t figure it out…

mikeyvthedonParticipantI am hoping his league is sick. Sounds good to me, at least on the categories front. Plus, I will definitely be competitive, lol. Especially with board bragging rights on the line :). Well, it should be fun. Dude, go for it. I am glad to be writing here, though it is not yet my occupation (maybe one day, I hope). Still, wish you the best brother, though I am guessing that you should look on football boards for more potential results.

marcusfizer21Participantthanks man… I’m nervous because it’s my first time though… I hope it will work out, mr. Essay… I was with llperez’ league last season and it was fun… My favorite part was the drafting though… You never know who’s available…
PS: It’s funny to think that tezo, one of the smartest guys here who KNOWS A LOT about the game, is still not yet familiar with the Fantasy League… lol It’s like Michael Jordan, the greatest ball player ever, still learning the ropes on how to manage a team…lmao

IndianaBasketballParticipantHa… Yea, I’m actually going to do some research in order to be good at this. Losing is something I don’t like all that much lol.
By the 17th, I’ll be ready!

M-DYMESParticipantYou should visit textbroker.com…
It’s basically a broker that brings authors and clients together. You get paid to complete assignments for companies and individuals ranging from topics such as sports, engineering, economics, politics…etc.
There also is now an option to be an editor, but you have to pass a test to prove your editing skills which was pretty rigorous compared to my expectations.
If you complete 5 articles at a 4 star level, you can become a "Pro" which is a 5 star author. At that point, you can set the price for your articles and clients will contact you as opposed to you just accepting assignments that are posted for the community of authors.
They really pay out and I’ve never had any problems with them. I’ve been writing for clients there for about 3 years now.

NCarmean18ParticipantI think I am a decent writer, and I have been recently looking for jobs to write about sports in local newspapers and such, so I definitely would be interested, if you wouldn’t mind letting me know all of the details. Thanks a lot!

aamir543ParticipantHey, LL, I left my email on the last thread, but I assume that you have enough guys by now, but if you need one more guy, I’d be down.
And about the topic, congrats man, and good luck, but If you need help as to what to email them back with………..
Nflandcollegefootball.com, thank you for considering me for this position, and I truly do appreciate the opotunity, and I look foward to be able to have the chance at helping make your great site even better.
For ideas, I believe the best way to hunt down talented writers is what you mentioned, reading low-trafic forums and assesing talent from there. I believe that many talented writers are just out there waiting to be discovered, and I can promise you that I will try to the best of my abilities to recruit talented writers.
I also have a circle of dozens of dedicated sports people that love to talk and write about sports, and I plan to recruit several not only through online recuritments, but I also plan on getting the word out to Sports Bars, and places of such, where I believe that there are sports fans as dedicated as myself.
I will be commited to finding writers that will consistently post top notch articles, and will do whatever it takes to do so.
Once again, thank you for this privledge, and I look foward to working with you to establish Nflandcollegefootball.com as one of the premier online sport references.
Marcus Fizer(Or whatever your name is, lol.)
Just somthing off the top of my head, you’ve probably already sent areply, but good luck nonetheless.
