IndianaBasketballParticipantHe got hurt vs the Knicks. Reports are that it’s a non-displaced fracture.
The good news is it’s to his non-shooting hand and the non-displaced fratures heal pretty quickly.
That’s too seasons in a row now that Davis has missed time due to an injury. Last season it was his ankle. This season it’s his wrist. Sucks because he’s been playing great.

ph90702He’s too thin to not get injured regularly.

3 No Biases 3ParticipantTayshaun Prince was the skinniest guy in the league for a while and played about 7 straight seasons without missing a game and is one of the most durable players ever. Being skinny has nothing to do with it. Injuries like this are just bad luck.

omphalosParticipantTo be fair, Prince played the SF, and Davis is playing on the inside, where being skinny is certainly more of a disadvantage.
Not saying I agree that Davis is getting hurt because he’s skinny, but I don’t think Prince’s situation is similar enough to Davis for it to be relevant.

ph90702Refer to omphalos. Tayshaun plays small forward. Anthony Davis plays power forward. Davis needs to gain about thirty pounds to be able to withstand contact.

The8thDeadlySinParticipantDo they make a move now to ensure a playoff berth? Maybe a trade for Asik while keeping Anderson? Somehow swing a 3 team deal with Tyreke or somethin?

AmiableBaller34ParticipantInjuries are just part of the game, and will always play a big part of the game as long as grown men are throwing their bodies around. With the exception of genetic freaks like LeBron James, who hasn’t missed time because of injuries? Just off the top of my head I could name double didgit playes who have missed at least a season due to injuries. Davis hasn’t really had anything to ominous, so I wouldn’t really be worried unless he was on my fantasy team

TRC1991ParticipantI just had the exact same injury as Davis back in June. (I punched a water fountain after missing a layup playing basketball)… I missed 4 weeks exactly. And when I came back, there was hardly any pain or discomfort, amazingly

anthony_DavIS23ParticipantDoes anyone know how long he’s looking at? – I heard 6-8 weeks from somewhere as a worst case scenario, that would really suck

Jester87ParticipantIt sucks not only because he was playing All nba type of basketball, but also because after Ryan Anderson came back they seemed to have turned the corner as a team. It’s really really tought for anyone to guard Davis in pick and roll situations, when you also have to worry about talented ball handlers such as Holiday and Evans and a great shooter like Anderson on the perimeter. Let’s hope he comes back soon, with him and all their roster healthy I think they can make a run for the playoffs.

RUDEBOY_ParticipantPierce,Redick also suffered broken hands last week..The week before it was issues with the knees of Iggy,Rose and Marc Gasol…
Looking over the recent history injuries to players that had broken hands, the time they was out varies, depending on the location ..Kyrie Irving missed 2 months..Nets announced today that Pierce will be out for 2 weeks..Boozer suffered the exact injury and he was out for 2 months…… Kevin Love broke his hand last year in the preseason ,he missed 9 games..But broke it again in January and missed the rest of the season….
This is heartbreaking news, becuz not only was Davis playing well, the team had started to play well……
