That would be a reach of epic proportions. There are many safer picks at 10 then Tony Wroten. Wroten would be a decent pick if they were at the end of the first round…but not the lottery.  I think if they are going to go PG Kendall Marshall would be the much smarter pick. He is the best pass ahead PG that the NCAA has seen in a while and that is a skill that is desired at the next level…especially if you have bigs that can run the floor like Anthony Davis.

LOL @ Wroten going #10. I don’t even think he should go in the 1st round.

If they’re looking for s PG, Lillard is the best PG prospect, but Kendall Marshall would be the better fit. For Davis’ first couple of yrs he’ll need someone to set him up while he polishes his skills.

If they can trade down to be in a position to get Marshall, that’d be better.

We all know Anthony davis is the first pick of the draft so this is more about the hornets pick at #10 The hornets really need a playmaking pg who get his points while also getting others involved, someone who can set ant davis up off the pick&roll/pop and take over the scoring load left by eric gordon (he is leaving new orleans people) thats where Tony wroten come in. T wroten is VERY UNDERRATED on this site, i mean damn he is currently projected as a second round pick.
I think his court vision and scoring ability mixed with ant davis skillset will help NOLA turn things around quickly. Wroten main knock is his jumper. Go look at his previous draft workout and you’ll see the jumper is back

You do know Eric Gordon is a restricted Free Agent, meaning New Orleans can match any offer he gets, it not like he can just walk out and the Hornets have cap room.

Now as a louisiana native, i’d love to have Anthony Davis and Tony Wroten, I just don’t want Wroten at 10, even though one day he could defintely be worth it, but the key word is could, He’s boom or bust.

If someone offers Gordon a big pay day , I don’t see the Hornets matching it and replacing Gordon with Waiters at the 10th pick.  Especially since coach Monte Williams feels Waiters is the second best player in the draft , I like Marshall and I think he will either be taken 11th by Portland or 17th by Dallas.  Obviously the Portland possibility is dependent on whether Portland reaches for Lillard at 6 or not , though I think Portland takes either Drummond or Robinson depending on who is left at 6.

Davis/Wroten is a good idea, but they should trade down to get Wroten..

Kendall Marshall is good, but he’ll give up alot defensively
Damian Lillard is good, but I dont exactly picture him dishing to Gordon/Davis effectively
Behind Jack, Wroten would be a good fit..

But they SHOULD move down if they really wanted him..

If Wroten’s jump shot wasn’t so broken, he’d be a top 10 pick, but it would be safer to pick Lillard or possibly Marshall instead.

Lillard is a good combo guard that could add some scoring punch, and Marshall is a pass first PG that could set Davis and Gordon up for open shots, maximizing their potential.

I’ve been saying Wroten is the best fit for Gordon & Davis combo…he can defend, loves to push, attacks the rim relentlessly, and is a big point with strength and speed to guard bigger 2’s interchangeably with EG taking the PG depending on matchup. Trade down for Boston’s 21 & 22 picks. Let them move up for Austin, grab Wroten at 21 & snatch up a 3 or 4 for depth with the other pick.

    @ j smoove1

Exactly TWJr is the perfect PG fit next to EGordon plus he has on court chemistry in a big man that can catch his dimes on time as witnessed in the Jordan Brand Classic game of 2011:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I6ghPovB7Hs

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sNCShZhQIgo

TWJr 2 AD for the dunk: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n3yFk81iS_E

How many pg’s can do this:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CSub7Hl30Hk

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Shl8un3U34

Plus TWJr has won a game with defense as he blocked an Arizona player’s lay up attempt as the clock ran out in Arizona.

People who talk about his broken jumper (JKidd, Rondo anyone?) & high TO to Assist rate at UW (Gaddy ran the pg spot for over 30 plus minutes a game) are stuck on stupid because N’Diaye dropped so many TWJr dimes that hit him right in his hands and the ones that he did catch he didn’t finish enough of them off strong at the rim on a consistent basis.

In the NBA TWJr will have bigs that can catch and finish his dimes on time at a high rate- TWJr (who just turned 19) will be a steal if he falls out of the top 10 for any team that drafts him plus he’s a gym rat not a nite club rat he will only get better with pro shooting coaches & hours in the gym.

LOE TV #3 (TWJr working out with BRoy, JCrawford and others): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HooPPwJTU3Y

I’d draft TWJr at 10 in a heartbeat and can even see MJ drafting TWJr at #2 in a Twilight Zone NBA Draft moment…

Pro 1 does make a good point about wroten’s turnovers with him having about 1 a game where he hit his teammates in the hands on a fancy pass and they just weren’t ready.

Big + for the boston&noh trade idea. Boston would get who they want and the Hornets wouldnt have to reach for Wroten. With Gordon being a very good shooter who is a little bit undersized I see Wroten as a perfect fit. Probably best scenario for him to reach his potential assuming that also Davis would be there. With the second Boston pick they could take Q.Miller who can also be a steal. Bright future for NOH.

Tony wroten will not fall out of the 15 after workouts. Once scouts see his abilities he will shoot of draft boards just like russell westbrook

Tony Wroten has mad skillz… no doubt about that. What he’s missing is shot selection and heady plays. He operates on instinct and that style of play can’t be trusted at the NBA level. Its a team killing mentality even if his intentions are good, he has to understand that just by taking a certain shot (make or miss) it has a cascading effect on the games development.

Wroten has already stunk it up so far in workouts. The kid is not a good pg. he’s has good vision but for every good pass he makes he also makes. Bad one. His turnovers are just his bad passes though it’s when he gets in the lane and gets stripped or charge over someone. Lillard is a wayyyyy better player that does everything better as well as having a great work ethic

I agree Wroten could work in New Orleans. But I don’t think the Hornets need to trade down so much. They may not even have to trade down at all. His stock (according to this site) is so low right now (lower than it should be) that he’s going to take it as an inspiration. An inspiration to move up, to impress scouts and coaches in workouts. He’s going to move up through the workouts. If Ty benjamins is right and his shot is not broken, or rather its fixed, or like he said its back, then look out. With a jumper and the other skills we all know about he could indeed be a lottery pick. So maybe New Orleans doesn’t need to necessarily trade down in order to get Wroten, maybe he just needs to impress enough teams in workouts (including the Hornets of course) in order to move his stock up and then 1 team will take a chance on him early. Yes, he is boom or bust, but with the right team he may be worth the risk. Maybe the Hornets have that right team once they get Davis. Or maybe they don’t, but another team does meaning that he will be taken early (to some people) Teams will take a chance on him and they may just rewarded. He is that kind of player. He likes basketball, he wants to get better, so he will do whatever it takes to move his stock up (like it should be already). He is not going second round. 15-25 is his range but by the time the draft is all said and done he might be taken earlier.

Wroten is so undervalvued its crazy. Size alone man is 6-5 PG with great court vision. I don’t really think he fit in the Washington system, he just did not look comfortable. If a team can STEAL him in the 2nd round because in my opinion he’s a first round pick easy. That would be a great pickup he has got more potential than some players going in the first.

PJ3 with Davis would be interesting. I wonder if New Orleans would trade up into the late 1st round to get Wroten. I think he’s a great fit if they keep Gordon, Davis, and Jones.

I like Wroten a lot. He’s going to be a good pro imo.
