unlvrebelxParticipantI’m unbiased when it comes to this guy….I just know the 20 or so times I’ve seen him play, I come away impressed. He has NBA skill….no doubt in my mind. I took a look at his stats, and I’m amazed the guy only gets 11 shots a game average, and shoot nearly 60% from the field.
Again, not a CSU fan at all, but as a UNLV fan, I’ve seen plenty of NBA talent, and Ogide has 1st round talent, and he certainly should be considered a top 100 prospect by anybody’s definition….unless they’ve never seen him play.

flyboyParticipantLots of players like this are seen every year in college basketball. He’s average/slightly undersized PF, a below the rim player, not a great rebounder/shot blocker at the NCAA level, has a bad A/T ratio, and from what I’ve seen, isn’t a huge factor offensively outside of hitting occasional jumpers, a decent hook shot, and offensive rebounds/cuts/garbage work. I don’t see NBA whatsoever in him.

unlvrebelxParticipantI understand what you’re saying….but I generally go off an eyeball test with certain players….he’s turned the corner last year and this year is really progressed. In the end, if you believe there’s 100 better NBA prospects out there for the 2011 draft….please, show me where?
I do beleive he’s got that late 1st round talent….but that’s just me. i don’t go out of my way to post this stuff about a run of the mill player……but that’s my opinion I guess.
Oh,….and to say he’s not a great rebounder is funny….he only averages 29 minutes a game. I used to talk up Joel Anthony as an NBA prospect, and he played 18 mpg for UNLV his senior year, and Joel didn’t even start!!!! Ogide is 17 pts and 8 boards a game in 29mpg…that’s a legitimate 20+ pts 10 boards if his coach were smart enough to get him more minutes…..however, I don’t look at stats as much as others do….I go off what I see with my eyes….and over the years, I’ve rarely missed on NBA prospects, and if I do, Its usually because they’re UNLV players and I can’t seperate heart and mind….lol
Ogide is one of the more talented forwards in all of college basketball IMO…..I’m not saying the best, but he’s in the top 10……IMO

jsmabryParticipantClearely you have not seen this guy play. For the first comment he is above average for a PF standing at 6’9" 245 LB and the average NBA PF is 6’8" 240-260 lb. This player has great shooting ability finishing the season averaging 17.2 pts and 7.7 rb per game. He shot 38% from the 3, 65% from the free throw line, and 59% from the field. To average 7.7 rebounds a game I believe is pretty good for a PF. You are not going to find a PF that is going to have an outstanding A/T ratio because that is not the role that they play. Their goal is to clear space in the lane, score, rebound, and play defense. All good bigs are going to pick up some fouls here and there everygame. If you find a big man that stays out of foul trouble the whole game then he is lazy and not playing any defense. Most guards know that if they drive the ball at a big and make any contact with the body, flop a little, then they are going to the line. The bigs that want to play hard and dont move out of the way, but try to play defense and hope that the ref makes the right call. The guy is built for the NBA and could run with some of the best guys in the league right now.

flyboyParticipantHe’s actually averaging about 16 and 7 but that’s semantics really. He seems to have issues with fouling, which is why he doesn’t get more minutes. In the games I saw him he either had foul problems or played to avoid them. He isn’t a great rebounder………….7 per game in a mid-level conference as a big man is not overly impressive. He lacks explosiveness/instincts to do better in this area, and that will be a huge, huge problem in the NBA for the role he would certainly play were he to make it. Again, he’s a somewhat undersized college 4/5. There are so many guys like him everywhere. I guess watching him live shows a different perspective than the games I’ve seen him, so I respect what you have to say. But, as for top 100 players better than him, look at the top 100 list here on this site, or on draft express, or espn.com. I would be hardpressed to find many he’s better than as a prospect.
