gabriel_akvaParticipantWhat do you guys think of it? Andy still got some battery to burn or will be a bench warmer and help the young players at practices?
What LeBron’s thinking right now? Andy will be a NBA Champion before the Cavs?
Pesonally, as a Brazilian, I hope Andy do well with his PT (Ezeli and Bogut are both injured right now) and play like his prime.
*sorry about my english

ChewyParticipanta lot of culture. How they have an unselfish culture that is about winning. Varejao has always been unselfish and has always been about winning, so at the very least, it will not hurt the Warriors. Assuming their frontcourt is healthy, I don’t see him playing very much. He could get 8-11 mins a game maybe, but the Warriors can go small with Barnes or Iggy, so he has even more competition to get on the floor.
I know Bogut is injury prone, IDK about Ezeli interms of injury, and Varejao is majorly injury prone. This could potentially be a problem with the Warriors. They have gotten quality bigs at baragin prices, the downside to that is that they get injured easily.

HoustonKid2013ParticipantYou know you have a good team when people start saying that Varajeo will not hurt them lol.

ChewyParticipantit felt weird to type, but he is so damn injury prone, that needing him to be in the regular rotation is a big risk. Warriors don’t NEED him to be in the regular roatation, but they have the choice to put him there if they want.

phila9012ParticipantVarejao is fine if he is their third bigman, all their centers can’t get hurt. If they have 2 of the three moderately healthy and able to play 30 to 40 mins a game combined come playoffs, the warriors will be fine.

HitsterParticipantVarejao has a load of experience and with Andy Bogut being out gives GSW an extra big on their rotation. He won’t need to play huge minutes but he can give GSW a solid 10-15 mins if required. He will fit in well with their roster and be a good team member.
He is 33 now and has a fair amount of injuries so a supporting role is a good fit for him at this stage of his career and GSW know he’ll do a solid job when called upon.
I agree it would be ironic if after several near misses with Cleveland that Andy won the title with GSW.
As a neutral, he was always one of my favourite unsung players often backing up fellow Cleveland legend Big Z, so he would be the sort of player I’d be quite happy to see riding shotgun and getting a title late on in his career.

kobedagoatParticipantMy opinion is that move can’t hurt them, but can benefit them in 3 reasons:
1) It gives them bit of a psychological advantage against the Cavs in a potentialy finals series (And an inside look of their system)2)It gives them another big body who can still defend and rebound aspecially against the Spurs in a playoff series against them and their arsenal of bigs who can post and score
3)Safety if Bogut or/and Ezeli who are bit of an injury prone are suffering an injury down the road…

airguytonParticipantI wonder if lebron told varajao to help the cavs win the championship sabatoge the warriors

D7H7NParticipantOr Varejao felt betrayed that the Cavs traded him only to be cut. So he’s like fuck it, I’m joining the Dubs to ride a free ring before Cleveland can get one.

ExumInfernoParticipantThe big reason, they annoy the Cavs who they expect to see in the Finals.
The second reason, Bogut and Ezeli do get injured a lot. So does Varejao.
Third reason, Barbosa and Varejao off the bench should play well together.
Another reason, the Warrriors getting him stops the Spurs or Clippers signing him.
J Thomspon wasn’t bad as a King, tall and versatile, but Varejao has more hustle and anger for playoff basketball.

D7H7NParticipantHe’s also a huge upgrade over Speights on the defensive end. So when the Warriors have a huge lead, they can just put in Varejao instead of Speights.
