I think the pacers will draft a power forward here to eventually be west’s replacement. Trey lyles seems like a good fit. Turner and portis could be in play too, but I’m gonna go with lyles.

Kaminsky I think he is underrated. He is a legit 7 foot and has the skills to play center or pf which is great for a pacer team that is probably disappointed in Hibbert and has an aging pf in west. He helps the team right away.

Talented scoring wing who could learn from Paul George.  Kaminsky would also be a good pick, but Oubre’s youth and athleticism win out for me.  But Oubre just has a lot of potential as a shooter and scorer.

I’ll go with Kaminsky. I think his style would work well with the Pacers. He also should be ready to help them right of the bat.

Trey Lyles… a good stretch 4 that is quick for the Pacers new style of play.

Lyles makes sense as an Indiana native IIRC and a natural PF to play alongside Hibbert or whoever they end up starting.

His length also makes him a great fit next to George.

I think they go Cameron Payne here as the PG of the future. Payne has been rising the draft boards lately and I saw somewhere that they are interested of a Payne-George backcourt of the future. Payne has a great basketball IQ, good size for the PG position and has the ability to create for other while being able to get his own shot. Plus I think George Hill is better suited as the scoring combo guard off the bench.

Trey Lyles but I could see Indiana going many different ways with this pick.  Myles Turner, Cameron Payne, Kelly Oubre come to mind as other options.

     Kaminsky

If the Pacers pick big Frank it will mean lots of options.  He can play next to West or Hibbert, and if one of those isn’t around then Kaminsky is big enough and old enough to start.

Kaminsky can also space the floor, and when the season starts it will be all about P George so someone who can hit outside shots will keep defenders away from him.  M Turner could also fit with that role.  The Pacers do have lots of decisions to make, so this pick being traded could also happen.

I would pick Lyles although reports have stated they are more interested in replacing Hibbert at this time which would make me estimate they would pick Turner. Whether they go for Lyles, Turner, Portis, or Kaminsky they are in a good position and it seems to be a hard pick to mess up. Unless they pick Payne but that seems like a smokescreen.

The Pacers have multiple directions they could go in with this pick. There’s Kaminsky & Turner if they want a 5 man who can shoot it, there’s Lyles if they want a 4 of the future with D. West in the last year of his deal, then there’s Cam Payne if they want to go for a long-term solution at the point. With the hype behind his name of late, I think Payne is the guy here. With the talk that they want to go smaller and run more starting next year, this is a good time to get your PG of the future.

I think they go with Payne here. He scores efficiently, can shoot the three, penetrates well, creates for his teammates, plays good defense, has a winning attitude, is a good leader, and on top of all that he fills a need for the Pacers. If you can’t tell I think this kid is going to be a stud!

Well, from what Larry Bird’s Pacers exit interview told, he’s pressuring Hibbert to opt out of his contract so he can get rid of him. Both Bird and Vogel said Hibbert will have a reduced-role going forward. Bird mentioned that he’s trying to head towards a small-ball lineup, so look for them to draft a versatile big man who can hedge-and-recover. So I could see Portis or Kaminsky picked.

But scrap all that! My boy Payne is getting picked.

Turner might develop at a faster pace if he is drafted by them. Gives them flexibility going forward with their front court.  Payne is a close second.

George Hill is not a starting-caliber PG, imo. In fact, he’s not even a PG at all, really. He only "plays" the position by default due to being too small to (pretend to) be anything else. Therefore, I’d pick Payne to replace him.

You know, this comment feels a bit bland, actually. I wish I could add some sort of witty remark or something. But, unfortunately, it’s 10min past 4am here. And I’m a complete zombie.

    So, like, get bent.

Jerian Grant would actually be a good fit, and allow George Hill to stay in the starting lineup.

As a Notre Dame player he’d have a big built in fan base in Indiana too.

RJ Hunter.  Looks like they need help at the 2 and to add some shooting.

The "core" is ok.  PG, David West, and Roy Hibbert, and George Hill is ok.

If they look for a point guard, my guy would be Tyus Jones.  A gamer.

Good young lanky power forward. Athleticism with some guard skills that allowed him to play a little bit on the perimeter. Runs the floor and plays defense. Good solid back up for West, while he learns from the veteran.
