Kid From KoreaParticipantI know how much you guys love music, and I know how much you guys love basketball, so here’s a little something to do if you’re bored.
1. Take one of your favorite songs, could be any genre, any era.
2. Take one of your favorite players from the same era.
3. Explain how the song reminds you of the player, or how the song relates to the player.
4. Provide video evidence if possible.1. I’ll start. I love old school hip hop(I wish I was born in this era so I could have been more immersed in it. I know about 1/10th as much as I want to about old school hip hop). One of my favorite songs is "Oh my God" by A Tribe Called Quest.
2. One of the most underrated players, and someone I wanted to watch live, is Kevin Johnson. So smooth and so exciting to watch, I’m sad I only have Youtube vidoes to go on.
3. The smooth jazzy beat along with the smooth flow of Q-Tip really goes well with the smooth playmaking and smooth fast break skills. You can also tell Kevin Johnson has a sense of humour with his piggy back dunk at :24, just like Phife Dawg does haha.
4. If you mute the music in the Kevin Johnson video, and play the Tribe music, you’ll see exactly what I mean:

Kid From KoreaParticipantAlso, it’s pretty cool how Q-Tip says he’s drafted the Poet’s #7 pick, and Kevin Johnson was the #7 pick in his draft.

Tongue-Out-Like-23ParticipantI love this thread man.. It’s going to be great to see what other people do.
I’d say my favorite hip hop artist right now is Kid Cudi and my favorite NBA player that matches him as to be Dwyane Wade. They are never shook, even in the worst of circumstances. Cudi never changes the way he raps and he has a constant laid back approach to it. As Dwyane Wade, when there’s a big shot to hit, he’ll take it and with the expression on his face, you can’t even tell if he hit the gamer winner or just air balled a layup in the 2nd quarter. He’s came back from injury after injury only to become better and after every injury, everybody begins to doubt him, as if forgetting how much of a hard worker he is. Kid Cudi wasn’t just a one hit wonder with “Day n Night” He came back and kept making songs that kept topping hte charts when everybody thought he was one or two hit wonder. They both always seem to fade in the background and make a statement to come back. Another this they have in common, they both collab with an a-hole. LeBron James and Kanye West! Hahaha!

Kid From KoreaParticipantOne of my favorite Dre tracks. Dre + MJ = two vets in their respective games, good thing Dre ain’t retire yet. Still waiting on Detox. So much for this thread, I was hoping to get some more love, I thought it was a LITTLE creative…oh well.

OhCanada-ParticipantKid from Korea how do you embed?
This vid got me 30 000 views, Drew Howard is on the song "First Suspension" alot of references to highschool life and basketball in general. He is from Pickering which is 20 minutes away from Toronto, and considered te greater Toronto area. Up and coming musician from the area.
My baller is Andrew Wiggins, a top recruit for 2014, young Canadian highschool star, from Toronto. Up and coming ball player.

Kid From KoreaParticipantI’m actually from Peterborough, which is about an hour and a half east of Toronto. I always gotta show love to Toronto ballers. This dude can ball. Do you know him?
To embed, when you’re posting, switch into plain text editor mode. Then, when you look at the youtube video you want to embed on youtube, theres a a button that says "embed" below the video. Once you click that button, some code will show up. Copy and paste the code into the post, and it should come up. Test it out on this thread.0 - Posted on: Fri, 02/11/2011 - 11:08am #488420
