What is your all-time team of guys who had great careers but for whatever reason never made an all-star team. Pick five starters and 3 subs. My requirement is that you pick guys who have either retired or have played at least 10 years ( players like kawhi, Drummond, green are disqualified because they will almost certainly be all-stars this year). I got:

    Pg rod Strickland

    Sg Ron Harper

    SF Toni kukoc

    Pf Lamar Odom

    C arvydas sabonis

    Bench:

    G Jason Richardson

    G-F Ron Harper

    C al jefferson

Drazen didn’t retire or play 10 years….but he was pretty much the Croatian Klay Thompson.

Point guards: Rod Strickland, Derek Harper, Mike Conley, Jr.

Shooting guards: Byron Scott, Danny Ainge, Monta Ellis, Ron Harper

Small forward: Michael Cooper, Toni Kukoc, Tayshaun Prince, Jason Richardson

Power forward: Rick Mahorn, Robert Horry

    Center: Al Jefferson, John Salley

Ok, that’s 15 guys.  So an active 13 man roster with 2 inactive emergency guys.

A good mix of scorers, all-around guys, and winners.

Lamar Odom has talent, but I went with a few more intangibles guys on the wing like Michael Cooper who also gives you great defense and some 3’s, and Kukoc/Prince who gives you a lot of what Odom does but with fewer headaches.

This team is not that deep inside, but Horry is a prototype athletic 3 and D guy, Mahorn can pound the boards and opponents.  Al Jefferson can score inside.  John Salley gives you depth at both inside spots and gives you shot blocking skills and length.

I have Conley here for the Memphis love, but you can argue for Mike Bibby.  I would also consider Jason Williams.  Lots of love for the little guys like Spud Webb and Muggsy Bogues, too.

     I can’t find many more, a lot of 1 all star selection(hornacek, oakley, howard…).

Active players, yeah monta and big al are on top of the list, maybe gay and josh smith, he had the numbers in his days in atlanta.

@Dazzling, keep your harpers, add derek(16000 pts, 6500 assists 2000 steals in his career).

Andre miller, Monta ellis, ceballos, Antonio davis, smits, Damon Stoudemire. I may be wrong about ceballos. Did Vlade Divac make an all star team?

Bibby was robbed big time from 04 to 06, should have been one time all star at worst, 50+ wins sacto era, 18-21 pts, and they never played a PO game since he left the team…

Jamal Magloire was an all star, roy hibbert was a 2 time all star, antonio and dale davis, tyrone hill, nick the quick…

Mo williams, jameer nelson, wally XXX-biak, gugliotta, dana barros, BJ Armstrong all star at 15 and 4 without Jordan…come on man.

    @memphis, ainge had one selection.

Vinnie the Microwave Johnson. Used to average 14-16ppg off the bench. From 82-91 (9 seasons) only missed a total of 7 games.

Isiah JR Rider had quite a few 18-20ppg seasons. Kendall Gill, Chuck The Rifleman Person, Stephen Jackson.

Eaton had a selection, he blocked 2 shots obviously…

Kevin Martin is a fine specimen, an absolut loser, not an all star caliber, but 6 seasons averaging 20+ pts, maybe a record.

I thought RJ had one selection, he had a few 18-21 pts in decent teams.
