Thats actually not a bad pick. Similar playstyle to Magic in a way. Your basically always running the same system this way.

    Sorry busy day at work!

I’ll take Chet Walker. I had never heard of him until I started poking around basketball-reference.com. But he was one of the best players in the league from about 1965-75. Look up his stats!

There are so many guys I would like to take with these last 2 picks. I’ll go with Nate archibald, the last and only player to lead the nba in both scoring and assists in the same season.
For my next pick I feel like my team is missing a big that can spread the floor. I’ll draft Rasheed Wallace.

Oh my bad. Danny Granger. I think he was on the way to becoming an alltime great before running into injuries. Was probably the best two way player in the league for two seasons and basically a Kawhi Leonard type player during that time. It hurts me to not take the other few guys I had on my list but thats okay.

I probably should pick peak Bernard King, as his name has been screaming in my ear the last round for fit, but I’m going small ball… I don’t see how my official pick is still here still… GAIL GOODRICH the leading scorer of a 69-13 team!!! That’s my pick… Gail Goodrich. Lillard also had a little consideration. My final lineup though is as follows:

Perimeter: Steph Curry, John Stockton, Kyrie Irving, Gail Goodrich
    Combo: Dwyane Wade, Sam Jones
    Wings: Kawhi Leonard, George Gervin
    Stretch: Larry Bird
Bigs: Nikola Jokic, Moses Malone, Alonzo Mourning

I Thought about several guys to coach my team..Hubie Brown,Doc Rivers,Doug Moe(D’Antoni stole from his playbook)-Imagine Lebron,Shaq,David Thompson,Mullin,Ja,Penny,Zeke and Dominique in his run & gun offense..But decided to go with THE GODFATHER PAT RILEY…

      Why am I shocked…

Those are the 4 top coaches off the board in my opinion. Only other coaches to have 3 championships are Steve Kerr and John Kundla who coached the Minneapolis LAKERS, in the 40’s. I’ll pass on that.

So heres why I’m going with Spoelstra.

Theres Kerr but I feel like he was blessed with a great team. Nurse was also blessed with a great team but it was obvious during his championship run he outcoached Brett Brown, Mike Budenholzer and Steve Kerr. Everyone that analyzed that series will tell you he won out on the x and o’s.

The reason why I pick Spoelstra over Nurse? First of all Nurse is a hot head. He’s mismanaged his relationship with Pascal Siakam and he freaks out at the refs every single game win or less which is a trait passed down to the players. He’s gotta the shortest temper I’ve ever seen in an NBA coach.

Spoelstra on the other hand is cool as a cucumber. During the 2019-2020 season Miami played Toronto and that season Nurse was abusing zone and full court press defense. Then the Raptors ran into the Heat and Spoelstra ran the same system. I’ll never forget how badly they shut us down and how embarrassing it was to see all of Nurses tricks on full display. Just a master.

Spoelstra’s way of getting the Lebron/Wade teams to mesh and leading this recent Heat team to the Finals, just masterful coaching. Best in the league imo.

Theres a few other guys I will mention when or if they get picked but I don’t wanna call out everyones picks.

Yeah he’s up there. Bad record in the playoffs other than his Championship run which was fueled by Dwayne Casey’s defensive schemes. Always seems to have issues with winning players like Rondo.

I’ve built a team that’s all about defense (Russell, Duncan, Moncrief, D. Green, Billups) but doesn’t have an MJ/Kobe-level scorer and shot-creator who can just go get a bucket at any time (although Jerrry West might come close).

No one’s had more success with teams like that than Larry Brown. He helped develop two of my guys, Reggie Miller and Billups, into all-NBA players He’s my coach.

Well, the top coaches are gone. Didn’t want guys like Don Nelson, D’Antoni or Sloan who only push their style and don’t have a lot of playoff success. Gonna go off the grid with Rudy Tomjanovic. Not a long career, but had a good reputation and won some championships. With a team full of hall of famers, you dont really need a big X and O guy or a hot head. Rudy is a good veteran coach and motivator. Just what this team needs.

@DazzinglingDunks-has his coach and then we can vote on teams. Unless someone has another suggestion= we’ll go head to head with
    1rst pick vs 8th pick
    2nd vs 7th
    3 vs 6th and
    4th vs 5th.

Each matchup will be a post where you can put your roster down and a short explanation why you think your team beats the other team. You can’t vote on your own matchup. I’d say the best of 7 votes wins. If you have any suggestions, let me know. I will make a new post right now where everyone can post their teams with their explanation of why they would beat the other roster.

I’m taking steve Kerr as my coach. He’s someone who can adapt his style to whatever. Plus he has experience coaching super teams, and is a guy that knows how to manage egos, which is something I would need.
