Dazzling Dunks and Basketball BloopersParticipantMaybe the best game of the college basketball season so far. It’s not very often you get to see 4 overtimes. I don’t think I’ve seen it happen since Notre dame- Louisville in 2013.
South Carolina played an awful game overall but fought back to tie it behind a huge effort from sindarius thornwell who had 44 pts 21 Reb and shot an incredible 33 FTS. It looked like South Carolina had all the momentum at several points in the game. However, Alabama held them off behind a complete team effort. It was an absolute huge win for a team that is fighting to get a spot in the tourney.

OhCanada-ParticipantI’ve been following USC for a while now. They were my dark horse team before preseason play and I will continue to rout for them yet I’ve gotta say I’ve been a bit dissapointed by them so far this year. A lot of people may think they are overachieving but they really aren’t. They have two good wins in November against Syracuse and Michigan I guess you could say those are good teams but that early in the season they really weren’t. Other than that they had a big win against Florida and blew out Auburn. Against Kentucky they lasted a half thanks to Thornwell but were blown out the second half. They got rocked by Memphis and even in some of thier wins it just seems like they expect Thornwell to win the game every night. It’s not what I expected from them. Dozier is a good player but he hasn’t become the dominate guy I expected him to be and Notice is terribly inconsistent. This is a team with a lot of older players and they should be winning games but in the SEC they should be killing teams like Alabama that Conference has a ton of young up and coming teams like Auburn, Alabama, Miss St. but the Gamecocks should be handling them due to thier experience.
Maybe I’m too rough on them but Id like to hear from a South Carolina fans perspective. All year they keep getting bailed out by thier opponents making mistakes because of the Gamecocks good defensive. They miss big buckets and shoot terribly yet win games because of Thornwell getting to the line and tight D. It’s like watching the Raptors last year in the playoffs. This was the most uneventful multiple OT game I’ve ever watched. Georgia’s two talented freshmen fouled out Ingram and Key yet they still lost! They play Mississippi St next who also lost to Auburn today and I expect an upset there tbh. Duane Notice you disappoint me.
