I agree with Vasquez winning ACC POY, with Jon Scheyer as runner up but I don’t know about Williams as FOY.

Yes Williams has played better than expected and Derrick Favors hasn’t quite lived up to his huge expectations with his inconsistant play but overall I would still give the nod to Favors. So far Williams has 9.3 PPG on 51.4% FG, 8.4 RPG, 1 BPG, 0.8 SPG and 0.1 APG in 24.4 mins. While Favors has 11.7 PPG on 59.7 FG%, 8.3 RPG, 2 BPG, 1 SPG and 1 APG in 26.5 mins.

I like Jordan Williams and I think he will be a great player at Maryland but Derrick Favors will definitely win freshman on the year. Favors is really starting to play well mainly because he is staying out of foul trouble.

i think they have williams freshman of the year because his numbers arent that far from favors and the fact that maryland will possibly be the coacc champs. they usually factor in winning more..like when beasley was putting up better numbers then psyco T but he didnt win it. or that most player of the year players are on real good teams

I think Favors has Freshman of the Year as well. He’s not had the season expected of him, but he still is the best freshman in the ACC.

Vazquez wins the POY in the conference though, especially since they are as close as they are (currently tied) with Duke as the best teams in the ACC. Scheyer is a close 2nd though.

id give it too him as well but how often has luek harangody put up better numbers then the past players of the year?…team record seems to play a big part in college. i doubt anyoen would be too shocked considering there numbers arent that far apart
