laarethekingsParticipantHey so we all know that the Clips have got bashed on the forums for the whole Davis trade. And they now have the superstar they’ve been looking for the last 20 plus years in Blake. So why not make a big move this off season for a super star PG?
I was thinking that if NO doesn’t think CP3 is going stay would a take from the clips of
Eric Bledsoe, Al Farouq Aminu, Willie Warren, Clips 2012 1st rounder and Minny 2012 1st rounder.
For
CP3 and Trevor Ariza
This gives NO’s three young players and two picks to rebuild it’s team.
Gives the Clips a lineup of CP3, EG, Ariza, Blake and Jordan… Plus Mo Williams, Foye, Kaman and Gomes off the bench. 9 deep…
Best deal for both teams IMO…

boshjonesfordParticipantTheres probobly going to be better offers out there
as a raptors fan i would give – (played betteer then aminu) ed davis + bayless +james johnson 5th pick (valued way higher then clips pick since with paul they r winning like crazy) + next years pick….Paul might not want to come to Toronto
Raptors Line up
PG – Chris Paul
SG – Demar Derozan
SF – ? Tayshawn Price (free agent)
PF – Andrea Bargnani
C – ? Samuel Dalembert (free agent)
win championship lolll

bksmithParticipantWow, that is much more reasonable then the" DWill to the Clips becuase he loves the Griffin show" thread. That actually seems quite fair for the Hornets but they would be in total rebuild mode but they would have a great set of circumstances to start with.

laarethekingsParticipantIt would be all about signing him to a long term deal… The Clips could do that being that they would be very good. If not then you’re the Nets right now, trying to have your superstar stay and not leave on you after giving up a lot to get him.
Also the biggest chip in this deal wouldn’t be the clips pick… it’s Minnys pick!
One more thing… NO would have cap room after this deal too.

llperezThe clips have to prove they can KEEP talent. Guys they bring in would have to want to sign an extension and Blake will have to sign an extension. I suppose they could trade away pieces for a star pg and hope that makes everyone happy and gordan and everyone signed long term. Certainly couldn’t hurt to try. But hornets would probably look for the best deal possible and it’s likely somebody would come up with something better then that deal you just proposed.

Chilbert arenasParticipantAt first glance I would love that deal, but it’s going to take a good amount of money to resign CP Blake Deandre and Gordon and we all know Sterlings track record but being cheap. I also think the Clippers are the new hot team, but primarily because I watch everyone of their games.

laarethekingsParticipantThe Hornets are in the worst place you can be in the NBA. They are a team that could be no better than a 7/8th seed playoff team, with a superstar who’s not happy where the team is and is watching his boys ( Bron, Bosh, Melo and STAT ) all over the TV.
Now as a team that is over the cap, has one superstar and nothing else going for it… what do you want out of a deal?
Superstar for Superstar? No you’re right back in the same place, but now you have a hole where your PG use to play.
Young players and Draft Picks? If the Hornets did this deal they should know they are not going to be very good… But by getting Minny 1sr rounder plus having their own both most likely being top 5 picks in 2012 and the clips 1st rounder… one off season after trading Cp3 your team could look like
Bledsoe
Al Aminu
Top 5 pick from 2012 draft
Top 5 pick from 2012 draft
1st round pick from 2012 draft
Cap space
Tell me a better deal?

Mr. BasketballParticipantI think a better deal would be a three team deal between New Orleans, the Clippers, and the Sixers:
Clippers get CP3
Hornets get Andre Iguodala, Eric Bledsoe, and the Minnesota 2012 1st round pick.
Sixers get Chris Kaman, Al-Farouq Aminu.

llperezDon’t underestimate how much Paul helps that team revenue wise and why the hornets might want to try and stick it out with that team adding pieces and not blowing it up. Heck a healthy David west and they might have eliminated the lakers in the first round. Bledsoe and aminu showed nothing to suggest they are major building blocks and draft picks are always an uncertainty. I’m guessing the hornets will see better offers if they do put Paul out there for trades such as more established young talent or a draft pick with an actual number next to it instead of hoping it will be top 5. Blowing things up can take years and being a playoff team without a single starter over 30 is not the worst spot in the world to be in.

laarethekingsParticipantllperez don’t get me worng if the Hornets can keep Cp3 then sign him up throw away the key and keep him there till his knees fall off. I just don’t think they can keep him so that gives them one more season with him on the team also West is coming off of blowing out his knee and remember thats a 8 to 12 month injury that heppened late into this season. So they could be without West till the all star break if not later. Without West this team does not make the playoffs which only makes it more likely that Cp3 leaves in the offseason.
I think that everyday you deal with a free agent to be that might leave your team in the last year of there comtract you lose value closer and closer you get to him leaving.
Lets just say they do make this deal
After the 2012 season having 6 young tatleted players and cap space is not the worst place in the world to be in or they could be like the Raps and Cavs and have nothing and be picking high in the 2013 draft…
