valentineI was thinking a sign and trade where…
Raymond Felton & Protected 1st round pick
for
Kevin Martin
Thoughts?

llperezIf the Kings decide that Tyreke evans would be better off as a sg, then I like it for the Kings. I also think it would work well for the Bobcats as well since Augustin is the point, and I’m not sure that Gerald Henderson is a starting sg. I like it.

trojans13Participantfor once a trade on here that actually makes some sense. dont really see the point of the bobcats having both augustin and felton on roster. gives augustin the confidence that management believes in him and a proven scorer on the wing. kings get a solid nba pt guard, allows tyreke to do what he does best and thats score. he can still log some minutes at the point when felton takes a breather as well.
i’m on board with it

llpereznow that I think about it, isn’t felton a free agent? The Kings, who have salary space, could just sign him if they wanted him and then either bring one of their three gaurds off the bench or use KMart as a quality trading piece.

trojans13Participantobviously thats why he suggested a sign and trade, cause he’s a free agent. if sacramento just flat signs him, then what? then you have martin felton evans all trying to share backcourt minutes and they still havent decided what they want to do with tyreke. if they are fully intent on tyreke playing the point, then its a dumb trade. if they eventually want him to be a 2 then they my as well get him going there right away and let him take his lumps. not like they will be a factor in the next couple of years anyways

llperezbut if the kings could just sign him without giving up their best player in KMart, then why wouldn’t they do that? I mean, KMart is young and makes reasonable money. And if the Kings decide that all 3 gaurds are not neccesary, then they can trade KMart for someone else. It makes more sense that way.

JNixonParticipantI think thats a great trade…it benefits both teams and would probably make both squads better. Like trojan said, finally a trade on here that make sense….

sheltwon3ParticipantI like the trade but I would think you would have to put a unprotected first rounder and a second round pick and it would be legit.

ZKParticipantIf Evans proves that he can’t play the point (which won’t happen, he’ll be fine wherever they put him), The kings can get a hell of a lot more for Martin than Felton and a pick. Martin is a much better player than Felton, he is a fringe star. Honestly, I don’t even think the kings would give Martin up if they swapped Augustin for Felton.

doubledribblerParticipantI don’t mind the trade, but I agree that it would have to be an unprotected first rounder. I do agree that I think the Kings can get more for him, but I think a trade like this would be in the right direction and it would put Evans at the position that most of us think he will end up at. It also fills a need for both teams.
I want to thank you for at least posting a trade that makes some sense and not finding some random way to put Lebron, Kobe, Amare, Carmelo, CP3 and 7 other allstars on the same team by only giving up bench players and getting to keep all of their first rounders.

xbadgerhustlerParticipantLL,
he’s a restricted FA as far as i know… and the kings aren’t under the cap so they can’t sign him to an offer sheet.
I don’t think that’s unreasonable at all, although I think KMart is way better than felton
