McDunkinIf Chris Bosh leaves…has Bargnani improved enough to be the focal point of the offense?

Stojakovicfor3ParticipantHell yea he averaged 17ppg for them with Bosh, without Bosh he’ll probably average like 20 and 10

BishopParticipantI don’t think so!!! Bargs is a scorer not a leader and the fact is that we need someone that can and will score under pressure. I’m sorry to say it but Bargs cannot be TOR go-to guy like Bosh was.

fastdanParticipantI think so. Every year he improves and gets more aggressive. I think if they let him take as many shots as he wants his confidence would soar and he would be a lot more effective.

dmo21ParticipantI would say Bargnani will up his game next year is bosh leaves. In the games where bosh was hurt and the Raptors ran there offense through Bargnani, he usually excelled. This guy shoots 3’s so easily and can drive by his defenders whenever he wants. The only thing he needs is to improve his confidence and decision making, which will probably happen with him being the focal point on the team. He also isnt that bad on defense either, he zones out every once in a while, but he has put on some muscle to bang and has length and timing to block shots.. Never liked the pick when it happened, but im starting to like him quite a bit.

mini_marzParticipantbargs can score in a variety of ways… and to be honest bosh flopped a lot at the end of games for the past few years to the point where i came to expect it from him… thank god he is gone i would much rather start over then continue with him as our “franchise” player, who dies at the end of a lot of games and when we are in the playoffs he was even worse (how the fuck does mikki moore lock u down, i would be ashamed of myself if i was bosh)… bargs isn’t a leader but he can play and believe me at least 20-24ppg this year… guy can score on any1… and any1 who really knows toronto knows we can score the ball pretty decent even with bosh out the game… just our defence we need to worry about as usual

Toronto16ParticipantDoesn’t matter either way. Bosh isn’t leaving.

jah12345ParticipantI’ll say it first that I love watching Bargs play and really like the guy as a player. He has the kind of unique talents that make him impossible to stop at times. I think this is a huge year for him as he’ll be given every chance imaginable to show that he is a star.
I truly think though that Bargs is a quintessential finisher rather than a focal point. His combination of shooting, size and first step make him lethal, but he is not a playmaker. The thought of seeing Bargnani finishing plays that he recieves from other creators is a great image…. the thought of him seeing consistent double teams and the other team’s best defender is truly terrifying.

Mr.Knick 32ParticipantHe’s a number 2 not a number 1. Not even in his prime.
I could see the scoring increase alot but I don’t think Toronto would be successful if he’s the main guy.

malikballerParticipantlol no way cud andrea be the focal point..he needs a better player on the team who can attract a double team to make him really effective..his numbers will increase and thats will be only becuase there is nobody else to run their offence thru..but the raptors wont be too succesfull..i hope he does improve tho so if we’re really bad we can trade him while his value is high….

Mr.Knick 32Participant7, WTF are you talking about? I answered the question. You HAVE to be a hater. I didn’t even comment about you.
Like I said before, Not a legit #1 option. If he’s Toronto’s number 1 next season? Good luck.

esperanzafleet69Participanti agree with knicksboy… bargnani will be an effective scorer.. but you can have the best scorer in the league and never win a game… sure he can be the focal point of the offense but its not a 1 man game… they need constant effort and major development of their young guys….
