I’m on twitter (www.twitter.com/qhaynes22) and I saw a question that interest me:

If New Orleans said to Portland: We will trade you Chris Paul but we want Brandon Roy.

Would Portland do it? At first thought, I said ” No” but when you thinking about it Paul seems to be the better player correct? Portland did draft a couple guards and Wes Matthews as well. It wouldn’t be a 2 player swap so pieces would be around this deal.

not sure who is the better player, but you rarely ever see teams trade away a in his prime superstar for another in his prime superstar. Usually one team is more desperate to make the move and is willing to bend, in this case it would be orleans since paul is the one supposedly asking for a trade. I wouldnt give up roy if i was portland. Besides, whos to say paul would even want to go their if there was no roy? Portland cant risk trading theri star for a guy who could walk in two years.

True superstars rarely swap. Would this deal work?

When you look at the rosters after

    Portland ( Paul-Matthews-Batum-Aldridge-Camby) ( Oden- West-Fernandez-Bayless)

New Orleans ( Collison-Roy-Posey- Pendergraph- Okafor) ( Thornton- Pryzbilla- Peja)

I love B-Roy, but Paul is the better player (not by much though). Honestly, I’m not sure if Portland would be better though. Not enough scoring from the sg/sf position.

You don’t think Paul could get some more scoring out of Rudy, Bayless and Matthews?

If we could get West by trading him, and taking back a bad contract i would do it.

West would be a nice sixth man at least, and start for Oden if he gets injured.

The big thing is Paul has said before that he wants to play with Roy, and Lamrcus, dont see that trade happening.

Most wed offer is Oden, Batum and Bayless, and a couple other players, and take on Okafor, and Posey.

Dont know if wed do that either.

I rather have Roy since he has a longer contract and Paul can bolt after two years.

From what ive been hearing Lebron told Paul to demand a trade to a team in the west (so they wouldnt have competition in the east) to start a rivalry against them.

damn i hope its not La.

    Hopefully Dallas, or Portland.

I’d take Roy he’s already locked up and though Paul is great you can find very good PG’s.
An elite SG is harder to find how many are there?
