PulseGlazerParticipant#2, Wesley Johnson and Flynn for Favors. Jazz get a 1 and 3, 2 need positions, and can do whatever the hell they want with #2, taking Williams, then replacing Favors with Jonas or Kanter. Favors slots in wonderfully next to Love as a defender and it slims Sota’s rotation to something managable.
Does this make sense or is my newfound Wolves-fandom blinding me? Note: every pundit I’ve seen asked has said Favors would be the clear #1 this year.

PulseGlazerParticipantI get that, but for Favors you get the #2 pick to go with this year’s #3, the #4 pick last year, and the #6 from 2 years back. That’s quite the haul.

Real Talk Real TrophiesParticipanti think the wolves are giving up too much in their early first round picks the last two years and then #2 pick this year, but I like the combo of favors and love… same thing could develop with favors and kanter if jazz take him at the 3, that is why i am in favor of jazz taking kanter then taking jimmer, singleton, or one of shooting guards (brooks, burks, thompson) with #12 then trade jeffereson or milsap for another wing player…. I think Jazz are in great shape where they are and no need to make trade, just make the right picks

HobbyOGParticipantWhy would the wolves want Favors when they have Love?? Favors can’t play center…

jonus grumbyParticipantnot a wolves fan here but you must be really down on Johnson to give up that much for Favors. In the NBA I totally believe in stars and giving up parts to get stars but that seems like giving up a lot to get Favors.

FDAPOBad trade…. You don’t trade 3 unproven potential stars for 1 unproven potential star. In 2k11, DWilliams becomes a 95, Flynn becomes an 88 and Johnson becomes an 85 while Favors becomes a 94.

PulseGlazerParticipantFavors is 6’10 and 246 lbs. He’s athletic as all get out. Al Horford was an All Star Center at 6’10 245 without the athleticism. Noah is an inch taller, 232 lbs. Joel Anthony, a terrible offensive player but very good defensive one, is all of 6’9 245 without Favors level athletecism. Favors isn’t a 5 yet, but he could easily be developed as one since he’s all of 20-years-old.

PulseGlazerParticipantThe Wolves very much cannot play Wesley enough unless he can play the 2. Right now, he can’t. Beasley works in the deal just as well as Wesley, as a matter of fact, and I think Wes would fit better long-term than Beas, but Wes is more likely to be accepted by the jazz. They need to start slimming their abundance of players at the 3 and 4 and I see a ton of young McDyess with better D in Favors. I watched a lot of Nets. The guy gets the game.

cward23ParticipantFavors isn’t worth the number two pick. He’s foot work on defense is suspect and he will take a couple of years to develop. Not sure why he’s untouchale though because he’s not that good

PulseGlazerParticipantFavors is 20 and an athletic force who already understands positioning and fitting in. Again, everyone says he’d be undisputed #1 this year.

SwatLakeCityParticipantI don’t even think the Jazz would touch this deal. Why, because they don’t want Johnny Flynn. The Wolves even offered Utah Flynn for Raja Bell near the trade deadline and the Jazz turned them down. I don’t think they would want to do a different deal when they would have to send away Favors (someone that is untouchable) instead of Bell.
Yes, a former #6 pick, a former #4 pick, the 3rd pick and the 2nd pick is quite a haul, but you have to look at the players they’d be getting back not where they were drafted. I highly doubt Utah wants Flynn especially if they have to give up Favors just to get him.

cward23ParticipantWho cares what everyone says. There are alot of athletic big men who are below average in the skill department. Chris wilcox was the same player,Tyrus Thomas,Deandre Jordan. If he was the Number one pick it would be off potential not production and Potential can go many different ways

PulseGlazerParticipantFlynn is, in essense a throw in. The deal should be enough without Flynn. Utah after the trade would have Derrick Williams and either Kanter or Brandon Knight to add to Jefferson/Millisap/Okur, Wes Johnson/Hayward, and Flynn/Devin Harris. That’s quite the haul of young pieces, right on a Denver level with how deep.

cward23ParticipantThat trade would never happen because the Twolvs said they want a very good Vet. No more young players that will take years to develop, they want someone who is gonna come in and produce now. Good topic for nba 2k11 though

aamir543ParticipantThat is crazy! Why would they swap potential all stars? It makes 0 sense. And plus, Wesely Johnson is like 4 years older than Favors, and For Favors, sky is the limit.

CalipariParticipantHey Cward, Deandre Jordan is developing beautifully in LA, CBA aside figures to get a nice contract this offseason, and is a core part of the Clippers’ young guns. Also probable that he starts over Kaman, even if Chris isn’t traded. Jordan is not below average in the skill department.
