BKKnicksfanParticipantWhat if the NBA had a Draft Committee? Like here’s what I’m thinking. What if we got 10 people to decide weather a player is, or isn’t ready for the draft?
- If you had to pick 10 people who would you pick?
- If you had to make criteria, what would it be?
Bill Simmons thought it up, I’m just bringing it to the site.

RUDEBOY_ParticipantWho can really tell? almost everyone said Evan Turner was the most nba ready player..and he looked lost this season..
And who would’ve thought Landry Fields would be among the top 5 rookies?

sheltwon3ParticipantTurner went to a bad situation and it took him a while to adjust but he is doing pretty good and if Philly moves him to a team that could utilize his talents better, he will have a grea second year. Philly and Minny should have swapped picks. Johnson would be a better fit for Philly and and Turner would be a better fit in Minny.

ProudGrandpaParticipantProbably not a good idea for a guy with 6 posts to ba calling out someone’s spelling.

BKKnicksfanParticipantSorry about the spelling, I get it wrong with the whether/weather alot. My apologizes.
My thinking would be this: We get 10-15 people. We need non NBA scouts. Guys who aren’t in the NBA now. Let’s take 10-15 people who have a basketball mind ( some NCAABB writers, some draft experts and maybe some former NBA guys like Greg Anthony, someone with college basketball and NBA knowledge) and all players who enter early have to go through a interview process, as well as an overall review of the player’s tape to enter the NBA.
If they decided to allow him to come to the NBA, he can officially declare, but they vote against it, he cannot officially enter the NBA, but is allowed to enter the NBDL draft.

SwatLakeCityParticipantDon’t like it. I like the process that is in now. I like players deciding whether or not they have proved enough on the college level and if they are mature and ready or not for the NBA. It shows that NBA draftees are adults and shouldn’t be treated like kids. I feel doing the way you proposed is like a kid asking his mom if he can go play. Draftees should not be treated like kids who need permission to enter the draft. They should be able to choose whether or not they are ready and have proved enough on the college level.
