BKKnicksfanParticipantI have 2 questions about the Heat
1. Since they signed tons of guys on these vet minimum for 1 seasons, is Miami able to do the same thing next season? Can’t Miami go and look for decent players who would take the vet next season? For example, if Kosta Kofous was a FA next season ( he isin’t but go with it), can’t Miami go and sign him for the vet’s min?
2. If the Heat decided they have to trade one player from the big 3, why would it be Chris Bosh? Wouldn’t be D-Wade since he’s older (28-29) and probably bring back the most value?
Would New Jersey do a deal like Wade and Chalmers for Murphy, Harris and Morrow or Williams?

JJeff6ParticipantMiami would never trade Wade for personell reasons. He’s too popular and the fans would be PISSED. Again, they probably wont trade a big three player, but if anyone, it would be Bosh.

BKKnicksfanParticipantThat’s what I don’t understand…why would you move Bosh, the only legit post player
When
LeBron and Wade cannot play together effectively? Both play better when the other is on the bench.

Tongue-Out-Like-23ParticipantYeah, they would NEVER trade Wade. Loyalty and class are two things that the Heat front office specialize in.
Trade Bosh for maybe B. Miller, Lowry, and Battier. Or instead of Battier, throw in Scola. Although Houston probably wouldn’t give away Scola.

JJeff6ParticipantWell, thats why they wont move any of them, and if they WERE to move bosh, itd be for another good post player like a Scola. And LeBron and Wade will figure it out, the caliber players they are, they will find a way to play effectively together.

SwatLakeCityParticipantNot quite sure how the veterans minimum works. That part about free agency has always confused me, but signing Kosta Koufus would be a HORRIBLE player to sign for the veterans minimum. Watching him in Utah was just deplorable. He goes for no rebounds, is very stiff, and does very little offensively. Trust me I am so glad he is not with Utah anymore. Koufus would be even worse than Magloire who signed for the veteran’s minumum this season but barely plays a minute.
That trade though I think would be good, although I don’t know if the Nets would like having to start two fringe starters in Farmer or Chalmers. They would most likely start Farmar, but he’s alot like a Jose Calderon. I don’t think the Nets want that kind of player starting for the future. If the heat do deal one of the Big three it will probably be a three or four team trade.

SteroidParticipantScola would fit in perfectly on this Heat squad now that I think about it. He is not a pure jumpshooting forward like Bosh, but he will bang, do dirty work, and score. He would definitely bring more toughness to this team. Too bad this trade would never happen.

SwatLakeCityParticipantFor your info, the last thing thing I said trading Wade, I did not mean to say it. I tried to change it, but for some odd reason the site said my change was unauthorized.

NYCrealdealParticipantSTOP SAYING MIAMI IS GANA TRADE ONE OF THE BIG 3

torukParticipantthe answer to miami heat problems is MARIO CHALMERS. better player than arroyo , better shooter. He is starting to play better basketball as soon as he gets confident he will be very valuable. Not a rondo kind of break out but he will have a nice improve.

SubZeroParticipantThat trade is horrible. They can get more talent than that just for trading Wade himself, let alone Chalmers too

JJeff6ParticipantChalmers plays nice D, decent to pretty good J. Yeah hes better than Arroyo, but by no means is he the answer to their point gaurd issues.

sheltwon3ParticipantI think none of the big 3 will be traded. It is still too early but It would appear if one were to go the weak link would be Bosh and that is not to knock him but Lebron and Wade are untradeable because if Heat were dumb enough to trade either one they would probably ask for most of a team’s best players. Also unless the rule change, Heat will have Mid level exception that could be close to 6 milliion to spend. They could also use veteran minimum on so players. I am surprised they have not looked to add Micki Moore. There are big men out there that would play for cheap so I don’t get why so teams are struggling with depth with the bigs. Lakers are dumb to not sign a big man for a 10 day contract.

jaysmith1987ParticipantI really think they could make trades for players that have skills they need but major defeciencies like I think Hasheem Thabeet would do really good for the Heat he would be the started playing next to all-stars and all you need from him is blocks and rebounds that makes the lineup even more intimidating physically. Then for point guard they could pick up someone like Gibson from cleveland just to knock down open threes and play defence and they would be really good also I think Mike Miller makes a bigger impact this year then people realize.

TyroberParticipantKeep in mind there may not be anymore MLEs to be thrown around in the new CBA

torukParticipanthe is not going to be an all star. but he dont need to. his only task is to make the big 3 co-exist and let them do their thing. if he can do that which i believe he can when he gets confident then he will be the answer

apb540ParticipantI just LOVE watching the Heat lose! Don’t puss out and join forces like the superbestfriends and this type of talk won’t happen lol

NYK2010ParticipantAny of the big 3 traded not likely and Houstons GM is too smart to give up 3 players for Bosh.
Also if they did happen to move Wade to the Nets they’d want Brook Lopez coming to Miami.
Murphy, Harris and Morrrow that won’t get it done.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 12/04/2010 - 8:26pm #453059

MuggsyParticipantFirst off pretty sure Koufos is too young and new to even be eligible for a veterans minimum, he could however be signed for the players minimum which is around 600-800k. Yes they could ideally resign any of the 1-Year contract players they have, if those players chose to do so.
As for a trade it isn’t going to happen during the season, at most if they don’t go very far at all perhaps in the off season, but even then it will not be Wade, the Heat will never trade Wade.
0 - Posted on: Sun, 12/05/2010 - 5:38am #453123

Ghost01Participant1. veterans minimum. Anyone that is in at least there 4th year or something can sign it. Miami will also have a midlevel exception which means they will add a legit piece to the mix as well.
2. I would absolutely trade Wade. But they wont. They could get a STARTING point guard, shooting guard, and center for Wade. But all that loyalty bs will gget in there way. If anyone of them were shopped, i could see bosh to Houston for Scola, Battier, and Lowry.
