I hate when people think cause the warriors won 73 games in todays watered down league they could hang with the greats. 86 Celtics would sweep em and that suns team would win in like 6. that suns team is still the best team not to win a tittle.

    Yeah, but would those Celtics teams come in with the amount of confidence that the Warriors consistently bring every night? Also, who would guard Thompson? I mean, we’ve seen his 37 point quarter performance. You can’t just assume he won’t be playing. You can slow down Green a bit with McHale and he’d have a hay day on Green offensively, but what else would you have. Golden State obviously has the backcourt advantage especially with the no-call moving screens Bogut and Green are constantly setting, leaving both Curry and Thompson wide open on a lot of shots. Then you put Iggy on Bird, and he wouldn’t be as effective, Green on McHale, and Bogut on Parish, then it’s a close matchup. The Warriors are also deeper than the Celtics teams were. Outside of their starting five, they didn’t have anyone that were really special. It’s a good argument, but like I said, that Celtics team could win… but a sweep is highly unlikely.

        Umm… I said up there that I knew that the Warriors weren’t the best team. I know that the 95-96 bulls would sweep them. I know that the Spurs will win them this year. I know they aren’t the best team to be in the NBA… alright, it doesn’t matter if i didn’t watch them back in the day, because I’m not a dilusional NBA fan. I’m not overly obsessed with one team *cough* like you *cough*… I’m enough of a "true" NBA fan to know greatness when I see it, and while the Warriors are great. They’re not the best. And while the Celtics were great… They weren’t the best. So… don’t be dissing me and my knowledge of basketball simply because i’m not old enough to watch the games back then… I’m only 15, so I wasn’t born in that time. But I know enough about that time to know that the Warriors would only be a 50-55 win team back in that day not a 73 win team.
