Many in China think center/forward Zhou Qi will be the next Yao Ming. Zhou Qi just recently been added to the 2016 NBAdraft net mock draft.
He’s been on other mock drafts too as seen on http://ZhouQiMania.com
Zhou Qi is more agile and quicker than Yao — and can handle the ball as well like a SF.
… and he’s been rising on the mock drafts. Has potential to be a lottery pick when he declares for the draft.

i remember reading somewhere that the cba has a rule that prohibits players from entering the draft before they turn 22 yrs old….it’ll be interesting to see if zhou, who is moving up draft boards will challenge it….

That he makes Porzingis look like Stanley Roberts. Just sayin. Has a nice touch, but if weight is a concern for the likes of Thon Maker ( whom I have seen get pushed around by younger guys), then this dude has REAL issues. I have seen him in a few junior events and was not too impressed.

  Which tournament did you see him play in? There was a Jr tournament in Europe where Zhou Qi was averaging 40pts, 20 rebs, 8 blocks a game.

Worst case maybe he’ll be Brandon Wright, but he’ll probably be at least a John Henson. That’s my initial uninformed reaction.
People close their minds when it comes to skinny tall foreigners, as if Bargnani and Yi busted because of talent. Fact is, if this guy’s work ethic and intangibles check out, he’s going to be the real deal, or at least an NBA player.

I really don’t see why he wouldn’t be a first round pick. Terrific size,touch,solid mobility/agility,good hands and looks like he has a solid feel for the game too.

  So lite Gobert might be Gobert or Gobert plus. Just two weeks ago a lot of people were mocking the Knicks for planning on starting Porzingis on opening night. Most people thought there was no way he was good/quick enough to do it, and NY’s "lack of PFs" was a big reason many people thought they would be a bad team this year. lol.
  Qi might end up playing PF most of the time, maybe even for his whole career, and that’s okay I suppose.
