7-1 275 17 Year Old Greek Center Georgios Papagiannis Update

Greek center Georgios Papagiannis update.

This is an update on Greek center Georgios Papagiannis, that I have been talking about here for a long time. Papagiannis is 17 and he has left USA high school to go back to Greece.

He is now signed with the big Greek Euroleague club Panathinaikos. He will be the 4th string center this year and will mainly play in their junior team in the local Athens high school league.

He is now from latest measurements from Panathinaikos and Greek junior national team at 7-1 1/2 tall with 7-6 wingspan and now weighs 275 pounds.

He is going to play in both the European Under 18 Championship (which is the qualifier for the World Under 19 Championship next summer) and also the World Under 17 championship this summer and also Greece is in the same group as USA.

This is the great Greece youth generation that is said to be maybe the greatest in the history of the country, maybe even greater than the country’s previous greatest youth generations (76/77, 82/83, 89/90, 94/95) so we will see this summer what they do. They already won the Under 16 world championship.

The Under 18 European Championship starts soon so I will give updates on him and the rest of the interesting Greek players from the "golden generation" here.
