TallmanNYCParticipantHas it come to this New York? Are the Knicks really going to role out 40 minutes of Mike Bibby in a playoff game? As soon as Lin went down the Knicks should have been auditioning PGs. If Dolan likes isiah so much, bring him back I bet he is still better than Bibby.

TyroberParticipantToney Douglas will be playing. Bibby will probably get about 30. Which is way too much already, but do they have a choice?

Chilbert arenasParticipantI rather have Bibby than Douglas, but they should have Melo or JR bring the ball up for a good amount of the game.

M-EazyParticipantNO! We do not need JR Smith being a PG because he makes dumb decision after dumb decision with the ball in his hand, either he’s losing his dribble or he’s shooting a dumbass 3 pointer. But now that I’m thinking about it he might be a better 2nd option over Douglas…omg we’re FUCKKED!

PulseGlazerParticipantBetter hope Lin’s ready

Pistol Pete. The PelicanParticipantI actually think Bibby can be better in this offense than Baron Davis in small doses. Bibby’s shot has been off lately but I don’t think there is an argument that Bibby is a better shooter, or even Toney Douglas is a better shooter than Davis. So when Carmelo gets double teamed or Jr penetrates without turning the ball over, the can pass it to a wide open Bibby/Douglas for the 3. Carmelo and Amare need more shooters and Bibby/Douglas bring that. I hope Baron heals but he’s been an inconsisten shooter his whole career.

doubledribblerParticipantI feel for all NY fans. anything over 10 mins of Bibby seems bad enough. Why does it seem like he’s 40 instead of 33? I’m still trying to figure out how he has dropped off so much in his game. I understand guys get older and lose some athleticism, but that’s not like that was what he game was based on. He had skill, could run a team. For the last 4-5 years he’s just seemed completely overmatched and now his shot is gone. Toney Douglas seems like the last possible option. I think Woodson will do the player/coach thing before he lets Douglas get on the court. It’s crazy that things are so bad that JR Smith, despite all the dumb things everyone knows he will do with the ball in his hand, will end up running some point next game.

boffacheeriosParticipantWhy all the Bibby hate after he played a big part in extending the series? You knicks fans are lucky to even be able to watch your team lose a game 5, Mike Bibby is a great guy to have to fall back on. He has lots of playoff experience and has the ability to get hot and hit some cold threes. He may not be the player he used to be, but he’s not trash.

TRC1991ParticipantJR Smith is the last player i want bringing the ball up the court, that guy would shoot 40 times a game if he didnt get in trouble

sheltwon3ParticipantIf Douglas is healthy, he is not a bad option. They will just have to run the offense through Stoudamire or Melo.

TallmanNYCParticipantBibby’s best skill is supposed to be his shooting but he is shooting 29% this season!! He is actually better from three as he is shooting 31% from downtown. And if uou watch him play he is only taking wide open easy shots. He is being very conservative out there, never forcing the issue, but even playing like that he can’t keep his percentages respectable.
The guys per 36 minutes stats is less than 7 points a game and only about 5 assists. That is playing PG in an Dantonio offense, think about that. How can he be the starting point guard for a playoff team from one of the richest teams in the game? That may have been freak injury to Davis, but Davis getting hurts was obviously something one needed to be prepared for.
Douglas has also just been terrible this year 32% shooting and a terrible 23% from three. But at least he seems to still have nba athleticism. I think in the playoffs he might decide to play smart, take only high quality shots and then might able to contribute. But Woodson hasn’t played him yet this series so there might be some rust on his game. I really suspect we will see a backcourt of Smith and Fields during a lot of the game. Maybe fields high ball iq will balance out jr smith and that will work.

phila9012ParticipantI dont watch the knicks that much, but why does toney douglas not play. He was decent a year or 2 ago. He can also play a little defence compared to bibby and is more athletic than bibby. Why doesn’t he play more

TomShoeParticipantWatching Bibby play makes me sad.
