    1st the Knicks:

Nate Robinson looked like Nate. Same flashy style of play and gifted ability on offense. Even though he’s not a great defender, he might have the most lateral quickness I’ve ever seen lol. Just thought I’d say that.

Jared Jeffries bites…he’s not that good at anything in particular, but he did shoot better than he usually does I guess. He missed an open layup, were he looked real unathletic because he couldn’t decide whether to dunk or lay it in. Made me laugh lol.

Harrington was OK, but he doesn’t do much outside of looking for his own shot. They should trade him I think.

Wilson Chandler has a bright future. He can do alot of everything on the floor and is a nice athlete. Needs to work on his handle a little, but it’s not too bad at all.

Chris Duhon just isn’t going to cut it at starting PG, and neither is rookie Toney Douglas anytime soon. Neither are huge threats to score, and the half-court offense isn’t that smooth with them.

Gallinari was not very good. C’mon! I made a bold prediction that you’d lead the Knicks in scoring this year…he looked particualarly bad defensively.

Jordan Hill was OK, but he needs more strength. He might become a building block though in the future as he shows some nice flashes.

David Lee played his crowd-pleasing game. Got boards and scored, but he still needs a jumper. It would make him a hard, hard player to defend.

    PHILLY:

Expect an all-star year from yours truly, Andre Iguodala lol. He ran the point, defended the Suns’ hot hand from the perimeter, and shot and slash with plenty of effectiveness. He looked like a beast, and I’m trying to be as unbiased as possible.

Thad Young looked pretty good as well. He’s a decent scorer, but he gets by on athleticism (which shows how good an athlete he really is). He has poor handles, and he dribbles with his head down, which led to charges and silly mistakes. He also isn’t much of a defender yet.

Elton Brand was good rebounding and defending, as he has a high motor, but he isn’t doing much on offense! Ugh…I hope it was just a bad night shooting.

Speights is going to be something to reckon with. He is talented on offense, and he rebounds. Also a good rotation weakside defender, I think he can be a future all-star.

Jason Smith, not so much. He’s soft.

Dalembert actually looked pretty good lol. Still makes you cringe every time he shoots or looks to pass. There’s no denying that he’s physically gifted, but he still has a low bball IQ and it hurts him a little on offense.

Lou Williams didn’t run the offense very crisp, which is why they started running the offense through Iguodala. He also was inefficient on offense and poor on D. Get it together Lou!

Kapono was lights out shooting today.

Willie Green played some PG, never knew he had it in em. But he did pretty good too, better than Lou did and he played pretty good D.

Jrue Holiday plays good D. He’s a lttle too weak right now and not that talented offensively, but he’s going to be a role player similar to Delonte West with more improvement.

    SUNS:

Steve Nash and Amare Stoudemire looked good, especially in the pick-n-roll. Amare will return among the elite PF’s, same explosiveness and finesse.

Channing Frye didn’t play that good at all, not that many of his teammates did. He couldn’t make shots today, but he’ll come around.

Jason Richardson played good offensively, and did his usual in passing lane D.

Dragic is a good passer and handler, but he doesn’t do anything else of note and is turnover prone. More of a backup or change of pace than PG of the future.

Barbosa played his usual “score and do nothing else” game.

Dudley and Amundson defend and will have roles because of that.

Earl Clark is going to have to polish his perimeter game and play more aggressive to get minutes. He has talent, just needs time.

Taylor Griffin and Alando Tucker played….yea, and that’s where it ends.

Nate Robinson looked like Nate. Same flashy style of play and gifted ability on offense. Even though he’s not a great defender, he might have the most lateral quickness I’ve ever seen lol. Just thought I’d say that. / Agreed and he almost caught a crazy windmill putback that was after the wistle

Jared Jeffries bites…he’s not that good at anything in particular, but he did shoot better than he usually does I guess. He missed an open layup, were he looked real unathletic because he couldn’t decide whether to dunk or lay it in. Made me laugh lol. / Come on he is actually somewhat of a threat from the perimeter now, much much improved, and he’s still a great defender

Harrington was OK, but he doesn’t do much outside of looking for his own shot. They should trade him I think./ i think he’s a good scorer, not great and he is still selfish

Wilson Chandler has a bright future. He can do alot of everything on the floor and is a nice athlete. Needs to work on his handle a little, but it’s not too bad at all./ agreed

Chris Duhon just isn’t going to cut it at starting PG, and neither is rookie Toney Douglas anytime soon. Neither are huge threats to score, and the half-court offense isn’t that smooth with them. /agreed

Gallinari was not very good. C’mon! I made a bold prediction that you’d lead the Knicks in scoring this year…he looked particualarly bad defensively./ Oh No, dude played like 15 min’s, hell be just fine, although he did play bad D, he should guard 4’s in the NBA

Jordan Hill was OK, but he needs more strength. He might become a building block though in the future as he shows some nice flashes./ i don’t know, he has me befuddled, i wonder why he was drafted in the 1st round sometimes

David Lee played his crowd-pleasing game. Got boards and scored, but he still needs a jumper. It would make him a hard, hard player to defend./The Jumper is getting there

Oh and just to throw this in there, lighten up on Young the dude is a YOUNG player

Im just saying what I saw. People think I don’t like Young and Holiday, I have to now. They play for my team, but when people say that Young will be better than Iguodala or Holiday plays like Gary Payton and Chauncey Billups I can’t agree with those things.

No haha. He isn’t the 2nd best shooter on the team (why did he even say that?!!). He isn’t that good a shooter, but he has developed some moves over the off-season, which is good to see.

YOung can defintely become better than igoudala, just some people are what we call “fanboys”…. hence the name – identity on this site… Thads very young, and improving every yr.. If you take iggys offensive repetoire at the same age, the comparison is a joke.. Thads MUCH better than iggy as the same age..

i dont think young will be better then iggy..of course he has more potenial because he younger..i see youngs career going something like deng without the injuries..iggy is just more athletic strong and more well rounded..and just because someone calls thing like they see it doesnt mean they are being hard on someone or dont like them, they are just telling the truth from what the player has shown

Iggy has so many skills in when he came into the League but Young could become a better scorer but to be better than Iggy, He has to shore up his defense, get better handles and become a pretty good passer. Those are some tough things to add at this level and also he may not ever get to use all this in the line up they have.

in my assessment Young has to be the floor spacer to complement iggy’s slashing skills
until he shores up the handles

Iggy, in the game verses the Knicks, Brand did work on offense. He got a lot of early touches and showed his great post game and mid-range shot. He’d be good catching and shooting more, but he like to hold the ball before making a decision. Could be early season, but he’ll be fine by regular season.

The Knicks have good players in Lee, Nate, Harrington, and Chandler. The latter two need to get their shots together because they are way off as of now. Gallo could be better if he gets some strength and aggressiveness. He plays way too passive. Hill definitely has potential, but he definitely plays like a rookie. He looks like he’s catching up to the speed of the game, and gets caught ball watching too much. But when he plays with confidence, he’s a force on the boards, especially offensive, shows nice touch and good footwork. Need to get stronger. And Douglass is a great defender, but he’s turnover prone and has no 3 point range.

iggy lst time i said thad can definitely be a better scorer than iggy, and u said no.. Right now iggy is better all around player, but thad has tools to exceed that.. Just watch and see… Thads so much more fluid on offense, unless iggy is going to whole nothing looks right, and dude has HORRIBLE form.. Thad has one of sweetest strokes on the tm.. So we shall wait and see, but again take iggys #’s while at the same age, and it shows what i been telling u for days now. Thads progressing quicker than iggy was at same age.. Thad also came into the LG at 19 (as 2nd youngest player in lg that yr to KD)…

is one of the most versatile players in the league 6’6 Pg-SG-SF
    he’s a mini Lebron
    20+5+5

Thad is a better pure scorer anytime he touches the ball it should be going up (sweet stroke)
but until he gets a better pull up game (ala Carmelo both 6’7.5) Thad won’t come close to scraping his ceiling

i don’t see it happening eeither because Carmelo came into the league more refined post game, more weight than Thaddeus, better handle IDK we’ll have to wait and see I guess

Iguodala’s form isn’t horrible, he just has a high release. And it’s incontestable. And Thad may be a better scorer/shooter than Iguodala at that stage, but he had no other skill that’s better. That doesn’t determine who’s better NOW anyway. For all this talk about Young’s upside, Iguodala still can get better too. His jumper has gotten much better and now he’s a serious threat from deep. Just watch, Iguodala will shoot better than everybody on the squad except Kapono.

Watch this year….players improve and he shot good yesterday. He’s been workin hard on it, he’s not going to be able to be played off of like he was in the past in screen and pick-n-roll situations. I rate him just fine, I watch him play and I only state what I see. I’ve never said he could do anything he couldn’t.

That’s about average for the NBA, maybe slightly above. 35% isn’t that high at all, and I think he could definitely reach it. I don’t see why he couldn’t get there.

35% is solid, but it depends on what type of shots you are taking too. Guys like Kobe, Lebron or wade shooting 35% is pretty damn good considering the number of 3’s they take and the difficulty of shots late in the clock and what not. If you don’t have to force very many 3’s and they are mostly spot up 3’s while open, then 35% is not too impressive.

Exactly, it depends on the amount of 3’s that person takes. I don’t think Iguodala will average more than about 3.5 a game at 35%. That’s not anything spectacular.
