ropeParticipantDo you actually think he posted some random stats because he was not sure who they belonged to? The capital YOU for emphasis should have made it clear that he was probing to see if anyone knew how well the unnamed player was playing. I bet, without looking it up, not a lot of people would have named Bosh. It was kind of a clever way to make the point that Bosh is off to a fast start.

ropeParticipantSarcasm doesn’t usually work in a forum like this and, despite all the positives, you kind of missed the mark in your one line post. You might think you were being funny, but it really looked like you were putting down the original poster. So, no, your post did not come off as sarcastic. It came off as condescending.

NickWayne87ParticipantI asking if anyone else did……just wanted to bring up how good he’s being doing since people have tried to wrtie him off over their past few years. Those numbers look like LeBron left Kevin Love back in Miami.

CynthiaParticipantNot hard to believe. It’s like people forget how good Bosh was when he was the man in Toronto. He just simply didn’t mesh well with Lebron.

IndianaBasketballParticipantI get that LeBron is arguably the greatest driver in NBA history and all that, but why do players always have to play off of him? I mean, I understand legit role players playing off of him, but Bosh is clearly good enough to have an offense ran through him. Had the Heat just given him more space to do his own thing instead of be a role player all of the time and standing on the three-point line, I think they would’ve been even better and more unpredicatable offensively.
I’ve been saying this for a long time… Bosh is a stud and is one of the more offensively gifted players in the league. He’s not a role player. He’s a legit star.

ropeParticipantAs far as Bosh with the Heatles, there are a few explanations. The first is probably – with Miami’s inability to find even a servicable center – he was asked to play out of position. Don’t think that those nightly battles in the post didn’t affect his game on the other end.
With two "first options" on the team in James and Wade, he was automatically going to be number 3. Most third options don’t put up the consistent numbers he did in their four years together. He was as good or better than almost anyone has been in that role.
Bosh also had a better personality to be the one that took that role for the benefit of the team. We have seen star level players take on a reduced role to win, but very rarely has that been in the prime of their career. He also put up with unfair negative press better than just about anyone would.
Bosh is a star, most likely a Hall of Famer, reportedly a really great person and now he has a couple of rings. We are going to be reminded how good he is, because now he is back in a role as a first option. He is driven to show that he is indeed worthy of this role and that is going to mean a lot as the season goes on.

KDThunder35ParticipantHere’s why. LeBron made the NBA finals with a rag tag group when he was in Cleveland alone. Bosh barely made the playoffs if at all with the same type of talent in Toronto.
If you have the best player in the world on your team who facilitates as well as LeBron you run the offense through them. Bosh is a very good player and underrated the last couple of years playing on the Heat. Just because he is going back to his All Star stud numbers doesn’t mean you run the offense through him when he plays with LeBron. There just weren’t enough possessions in a game for him to be the focal point.

ropeParticipantI don’t think the original post was trying to make a case that Bosh should have been the focal point of the Heat offense, just that he is off to a hot start.

doubledribblerParticipantI thought the best year Bosh had playing in Miami was his first season because he was still aggressive. Not only was he stepping out on people hitting his jumpers, but he was killing bigs on pump fakes and getting to the line at a good rate. I believe that somewhere along the way he felt he had to step back to try to help the team. Of course the following two years they win the title so he keeps fading back more and more. I think a lot of people can take blame for that including Bosh. He should have been evolving into a more complete player instead of taking a step back. It’s not like he was an older player with declining skills.
I’m not sure why Bosh got the criticism he got. My only issue with him was his rebounding. The guy did what people are always asking stars to do…make sacrifices to win. I thought his defense improved greatly, he was pretty reliable in big moments and you knew what you would get from him every game. You can’t ask too much more from the 3rd guy, though I thought last year they needed him to be more of him old self with Wade declining and dealing with injuries. I think he had a lot of motivation coming into this year and so far he has been using it. Hopefully he keeps it up all year and the guys around him can give him the help he needs.

tuck243ParticipantYou could help out on Bosh in the post and play off your man… They needed to spread the floor and when you have 2 very good ball dominant individuals in LeBron and Wade it’s going to be hard to give Bosh his touches in the post… If you remember they tried to do that at first, but it didn’t work. You also have to remember the further Bosh spread the floor out the more productive the Heat’s offense was… I can’t blame D Wade for everything, but not improving any parts of his game in the 4 years destroyed what should’ve been a dynasty…
Then he was injured and the hard cuts to the basket was no longer there for them, because he couldn’t finish off those plays. He also wasn’t guarding anyone defensively. In fact if you look back on D Wade’s career its possible to say he’s been vastly overrated. Only once did he get pass the first round of the playoffs without a superstar teammate. And he was a rookie then… The rest he’s been injured or couldn’t do enough to win a series… And that’s in the East… I think he’s a great talent, but it’s so many issues with his game that hendered the Heat’s success when LeBron was there… It forced everyone else to work harder…
