NorrinRaddParticipantI think this past draft was a great draft class. It could be up there with 2012, 2008, 2003, 1996, 1985, 1984, 1970… well within the top 10ish draft classes. That being said, this could be a 3 year streak of greatness. I feel the 2021 draft class is both top heavy and pretty darn deep. The 2022 class seems like it could be just as top heavy at least and probably as deep of a class. But I can see 2023 being the same. I don’t think it’s just a hype train either. imo there are some serious prospects projecting to declare within this next year and the following… I’m wondering how we would rank these draft classes. I know we might need a time machine, but what are our thoughts on ranking 2021 vs 2022 vs 2023 draft classes. Who would you rank the best of the 3 classes in order?
I think 2023 might have the best player of them. 2022 might have most top heavy prospects, while 2021 has a combination of a lot of top heavy prospects and about 45 1st round worthy players. Any thoughts?

OhCanada-ParticipantI think 2021 is a league changing draft.
Cunningham is legit. The guy was groomed into a star by Montverde Academy every step of the way. He has every tool and to me is a bigger Demar Derozan with the three point shot and more all around game.
Jalen Green is going to score at a very high level. Will probably go down as one of the most effortless scorers.
Heres what I like about Barnes, he gets compared to Simmons and Green but unlike Ben he doesn’t change his heavy Floridian accent to try to fit in and he actually works on his game. This is a huge difference. Scottie seems to be a guy who doesn’t view the work as a “burden” or a “task” its just part of his process, you know. Its inevitable. And unlike Green he’s a joy to be around all the time. Green’s always freaking out at his teammates, officials, teammates, saying stupid things in the media and stirring shit up. He’s a great leader but he crosses the line alot.
But yeah back on subject I think 2021 has three franchise players, at least. Those 2022 and 2023 prospects are still very raw and skinny. Games are incomplete as of now. We need to see how they continue to develop and perform. Wembanyama for instance would probably go 3rd overall in this years draft because he still needs to gain some weight and find his go to spots offensively in the half court. He’s kind of all over the place and lacks balance. This SHOULD correct itself over time but that remains to be seen.

ChoppyParticipantWait… Ben Simmons changes his accent? Not that I’m an expert on American linguistics, but I can pick up a southern accent vs a Boston accent and that’s about it. All I hear in Ben is a generic American accent with a bit of Aussie twang every now and then…

2quick4uParticipantI really doubt any of those Drafts will be better than 2018.

HitsterParticipantI think this year’s draft has more depth than next year’s although Holmgren is a possible generational talent. I haven’t really heard much about the 2023 draft outside of Victor Wembanyama who I think could have more upside than Chet given he is bigger and heavier than him already despite being 20 months younger.
