18 year old Greek center Georgios Papagiannis, that I have been talking about here since he was 14 years old, will enter into 2016 NBA draft according to media reports.
Papagiannis is said to be 7’2".

Was a player St. John’s was recruiting last year. From what I’ve heard about him I think it’s highly unlikely he’s ready for the NBA just one year later. He would have been in the 50-60 range of recruits overall from the 2015 class. Can’t teach size though… Maybe someone would take a shot on his size in the 2nd round, but if he stays in I think most likely he goes undrafted.

  He is much better than Ante Zizic, Ivica Zubac, and Zhou Qi that are projected as being drafted, and some mocks even put them in first round. Papagiannis is much better than all of them.
  If he can’t get drafted, it is more proof that the NBA is biased against Greek players.

He’s a first round talent to me, possibly late lotto. Top 3 C prospect in the draft IMO. Big frame, wide base, soft hands and touch, mobile, decent shot-blocking instincts, nice looking form on his shot (remember him showing off his 3 pt stroke when he played in the States), presents a big target in PnR situations, solid passing instincts, etc. There’s a lot to like. He’s not fat at all but needs to tighten up his body and improve his conditioning. Also, for a kid with giant anchors for legs, he doesn’t do a great job of establishing position and he also tends to drift/fade on his shots, even on his hooks that he tends to sweep as opposed to creating space and going over the top.
I wonder what his time table is with possible buy out and opt out clauses. Does he want to come over immediately or establish himself overseas first?

  I am not sure, but I think he has NBA buyout option after every season for about €500,000 euros. Or maybe the buyout option does not kick in until next summer. I am not sure.

    I have seen plenty of tape on plenty of seven footers. So after watching this tape I say to myself, if this dude was standing next to Embiid he would look small. And if you agree then he isn’t 7’2 275…cause thats what Embiid is.

    The last time Papagiannis was measured and weighed, he was said to be 7-2 even, without shoes on, and his weight was given as 278 pounds.
    The claim being made here by hollefillers1 that he is really 6-10, is absurd.
    
    NBA lists Giannis Antetokounmpo at 6-11, and in Greek national team, he is clearly much shorter than Ioannis Bourousis. I have seen Bourousis next to Papagiannis, and Papagiannis is easily taller than Bourousis is.
    Papagiannis would tower over Antetokounmpo, that NBA lists at 6-11.

      I will believe it when they release the combine measurements. Until then its like going off a college program. Meaning I trust my eyes more than his friends from Greece with the measuring tape. But I bet he is closer to 6’10 barefoot than 7’2 barefoot.

I mean, that jump shot looked really good, Gobert couldn’t make a shot outside of 5 feet if his life depended on it. I’d take him around 20-25. I’ll admit I haven’t seen much of him, but he’s got my attention. I’d be very surprised if he goes undrafted.
Another player who was one of the greats that I see in him is Yao Ming.
If I could make a comparison for him, it would be a hybrid of Gobert and Ming.
