Today is the 15th anniversary of Vince Carter’s dunk over the 7’2 Fredrick Weis in the 2000 Olympics.  This dunk never gets old.  It’s amazing how athletic he was and how he’s adjusted to being a role player as he got older.

2nd most amazing thing about this play is the fact that Vin Baker was once an Olympic caliber hooper.

I still think Carter’s dunk on Alonzo Mourning when he was with the Nets was his best dunk.

The team was inbounding the ball & Carter stole it & in one motion did what he did & I stopped in my tracks – not b/c it was spectacular (it was) but b/c Carter did it so non-chalantly… all the players stopped in their tracks just like I did thousands of miles away in my living room – it seemed like Everyone’s brain was saying "wait a minute – did I just see what I thought I saw?!?!?" Truly Amazing athletic feat…. And the way Carter scissored his legs apart & literally had his junk all over the dude’s face & head as he glided Over his 7′ + frame made it extra nasty….

On an out of bounds play? I think it’s on a defensive rebound. The french commentator says "what the hell is this pass, now Vince carter….OHHH OHHHHHHHHHHHH". Yep the dunk is funnier if you understand French. He was THAT close to punching Garnett right in the face too.

Vince’s dunk on Fred Weis was truly awesome.  No question.  But something about it is too clean, and athletic.  No one falls down, there’s no trash talking, and the dunk is just overall too clean and polite of a dunk.  I mean that dunk is definitely an amazing dunk.  But something about it just doesn’t seem as powerful and nasty as…… the Scottie Pippen on Patrick Ewing dunk.  Now that was NASTY.  Pippen didn’t go over Ewing, he went right through him.  Ewing wound up on his back with Pippen glowering down at him, then Ewing awkwardly trying to push Pippen off of him, followed by Pippen talking sh*t to Spike Lee, and just general crowd mayhem.  Pippen just walked away like, yeah b*tch.
