NbanflguyParticipantFirst game without Melo and playing shorthanded against a playoff contender in Memphis.
Up by 25 in the 3rd quarter…..Who needs Melo? haha

SwatLakeCityParticipantThis is only because Gay is injured. If he were playing it would be a close game but Grizzlies would still win. Nuggets got lucky, next game they’ll start losing and praying for the season to end soon so they can look forward to the draft.

jeff416ParticipantWell Memphis is without Rudy Gay, so that kind of evens it out.

butidonthavemoneyMozgov doesn’t look like he wants to be in Denver.
He was a jerk to the interviewer.

SwatLakeCityParticipantMozgov was probably surprised that he got traded since the Knicks decided to move him at the last second. Probably bummed he won’t go to the playoffs anymore.

SteroidParticipantThe only thing I know about Mozgov is that Blake literally shoved his head into his crotch on a dunk. Anything else about this guy I should know?

Since when did Rudy Gay = Billups, Williams, and Melo? or even Galinari, Chandler, and Felton? Great win never the less

flyboyParticipantThe usual "rally around each other and the fans" game in the face of adversity or people doubting them, where everyone plays at 120% energy and focus and the coach gets the absolute most of their players. Whether they can keep that up and the new players can gel with the existing ones is the answer, but if anyone is going to make this new team a winner, it’s George Karl. We’ll know a lot on Thursday when they play Boston, that will be reality check time.

mj23mj23besteverParticipanthe very well could be the nugs center of the future hes still young has shown in limited minutes he can play at an nba level it really suprised with the lack of bigs the knicks have they included him in the deal

TallmanNYCParticipantYou’re surprised that the Knicks included Mozgov in the deal? Don’t you understand, Dolan and Isiah are idiots. The Nuggets know they are idiots, so they took the Knicks for all they were worth.
But yes, Mozgov has starting NBA center potential. And the ability to be a center that can both defend and be part of your offense. He is a valuable player and like Gallinari super cheap right now.

HotSnotParticipantI don’t think its a fluke. I’m think Denver finishes their last 23 games with about 13 more wins… maybe more. Will that be enough to hold onto seventh? While it is true they don’t have a "star" player anymore, J.R. Smith has never been shy about hoisting up shots and I’m sure he has no problem being a 1st option on Offense. Arron Afflalo has also shown to be abit more creative on offense then I have seen in the past. The incoming Kincks were all starters so Denver should be pretty deep. Lawson will likely run the team and tempo different then Billups. If Denver keeps Felton past the deadline PG shouldn’t be a problem.
I agree with George Karl. He should be optimistic. The playoffs are still a real possibility.
In the future the Nuggets have Youth, cap space and picks.

SwatLakeCityParticipantI’m not surprised. I understand it perfectly but Mozgov himself is probably surprised he was traded. He was included in the trade at the last minute.

BoomshakalakaParticipantThey have a couple good pieces. Nene is one of the better bigmen in the league, J.R. has a lot of potential plus he has to carry the scoring load which I think he totally capable of doing. The point guard combo of Lawson and Felton is probably the best starter and back-up rotation in the league. Affalo is still a good wing defender. We dont really know what Mozgov can do yet? He is a very active big man who can move his feet I am sure he will be useful.
I think they will be fighting for the 7th or 8th playoff spot.0 - Posted on: Wed, 02/23/2011 - 6:15am #497749
