SmooveKRYPTParticipantThe Lakers have found a team to send Wagner, Jones, & Bonga to and create max cap space. LA will now start free agency with 32M in cap space
The Washington Wizards are taking all 3 players into a trade exception in exchange for a 2022 2nd round pick.

SmooveKRYPTParticipantAD is also waiving his trade kicker to facilitate everything

Cutler06ParticipantLAL PIPEDREAM ??? If those players were so coveted, there would’ve been word out on the street. Even so, hard to see all three going to one team

Cutler06ParticipantLooks like Foot-in-mouth disease is strong with this one…with the Wiz roster, didn’t think they had cap space…who knew (besides NOT ME)

ChoppyParticipantI’m going to lol so hard if Kawhi resigns with Toronto or goes to the Clippers… Having said that, I’ll probably cry if he goes to the Lakers. See, (and this will get me negs from all the lurking Laker fans) I really want to see the Lakers fail. After all their manoeuvres to get LeBron, to get AD, the whole Magic tenure, where pretty much everything he said was 2 steps from tampering, I just wanna see them fall on their arrogant faces. Trading away everyone, even if you get Kawhi, you’re one injury from disaster with no depth. Still, I hope Kawhi spurns the Laker advances and signs elsewhere. Anywhere.

Cutler06ParticipantWhy would LBJ want to play 3rd fiddle ??

Evan_MilbergParticipantObviously all the talk (rightfully) is about what this does for the Lakers, but this is low-key pretty solid for the Wizards, too. Wagner and Bonga are promising prospects who could help ease the sting of potentially losing Parker.

SmooveKRYPTParticipantIt’s a good hedge by the Wizards. They were capped out, and had holes to fill. They get a free flyer on Wagner – who it’s being reported they liked in last years draft. Bonga is insurance in case Satoransky gets offered a # they’re not comfortable matching in RFA.

BothTeamsPlayedHardParticipantWagner is a nice pickup. He is cost-controlled for three years and skilled. Washington seems likely to lose Portis, and might also lose Parker. They need as many rookie scale guys who can be in their rotation as possible, because they have $40 million on their cap unable to play. Bonga wasn’t all that good in the G-League, so I doubt they would be betting on him stepping in should Satoransky leave. He is young, long, and worth the effort of trying to develop, but I think he is farther away from contributing.

MopgrassParticipantWagner has some nice potential. Bonga came a long way last year. His shot really came around. All of it surprised me. Especially after how incredibly lost he looked in summer. But Bonga is still far away. He needs some killer instinct. He is very passive.

Bmore_DCParticipantI mean, the Wiz kids get some prospects for free. Its a decent gamble to see if one sticks.

The Scare Crow RisesParticipantWhen will teams learn they gain nothing from helping other teams succeed…

frogmanParticipantThe Lakers are trying to contend in the Western Conference. The Wizards are trying to rebuild in the Eastern Conference. I think the Wizards are realistic enough to realise they will not be playing the Lakers in the NBA Finals. Therefore this post is stupid.

Bmore_DCParticipantWhy would a team pass on a no-brainer trade just to NOT help the Lakers? They arent in a position to be thinking about other teams, they just need prospects to roll the dice on. Its not like the wizards are in their division, let alone conference.
