Watching the Wizards play the Lakers tonight and past games it seem inevitable that the Wizards will trade Arenas. He looks so uncomfortable w/o the ball in his hands. I thought he could play off Wall but actually his worst games have been when they played together. His best games have been when Wall was injuried. Wall is a great set up guard and not his fault but Arenas just best getting his shot w/ ball in his hands…What do you guys think about the Wizards and Grizz putting a deal together that include Arenas and Mayo? I think it would help both sides. Wizards would have there backcourt mate for Wall for now and the future, a player who can play off him and stretch the D and can score w/o the ball. Memphis would get scoring, leadership and a dominant presence. Rudy Gay will never be the #1 go to guy that memphis paid him to be, hes more of a great #2 guy has a Odom type domeanor about him to me and Gilbert should relieve some of that #1 guy pressure. Potential issues I see is Grizz seem set on keeping Conley as the guy (especially since they just paid him) even though I dont think he will ever get them over the top and The ghost of A.I. (maybe afraid it would be A.I. all over again)…What you guys think?

well gill makes about 18 mill and mayo makes about 5 mill. So the trade wouldnt work straight up. Plus the grizz have both randolph and gasol coming up on free agency and they would lose both if they brought on gils contract.

I actually think that would be a nice trade for both teams but the value and contract just doesn’t match up. The Grizz wouldn’t want to give Mayo up at such and early age in his development for a player at the twilight of his career tho is still a world class scorer. Mayo and Randolph for Gill and Blatche. It’s pretty much a trade of Gill for Z Bo and Blatche for Mayo both of which would fit better with their new teams.

Why would the Grizz do this trade? It gives them a starting 5 of Conley, Arenas, Gay, Blatche, and Gasol. It takes away their worry of having to resign Randolph in the off season. And it gives them a veteran guard who is a proven leader, scorer, and distributor. This would alleviate the pressure of Mike Conley having to do all the clutch ball handling and if worse comes to worse they can trade Conley and have an even deadlier starting lineup of Arenas, Henry, Gay, Blatche, and Gasol. That is a big imposing lineup even in the West and all of them good basketball players who can shoot, pass, and play smart basketball. Arenas 6’4, Henry 6’7, Gay 6’9, Blatche 6’11, and Gasol 7’1. That is a nice lineup. The Grizz even tho it looks like they are committed to Conley would’nt pass up the opportunity of making their team better and more exciting. Plus Arenas would fill fans in the stands just because of his personality and his scoring instincts. Arenas can still score. And their are a few teams out their that would still welcome Conley, notably the Blazers.

Why would the Wiz do the trade? Even tho they are giving up a very good and young all around power forward in Blatche. They are getting back a better power forward in Z Bo who looks like he has completely turned himself around as both a player and a person. Z Bo playing with Wall would equal around 23 PPG for Randolph. The Wiz also rid themselves of Arenas contract and presence. They also obviously get back Mayo in the deal who is a stud in the making just waiting for his opportunity to explode like Beasley is doing right now. If the Wiz think Nick Young is a good shooter and scorer wait till they get a load of OJ. The Wiz starting 5 of Wall, Mayo, Thornton, Z Bo, and McGee would be balling in the East. The weak spot of that lineup is Thornton who they should think of replacing with Young. You throw Young out there in between Z Bo and Mayo and you get yourself perfect floor spacing for Wall to slash then either feed Bo down low or kick it out to Young and Mayo who are both lights out shooters who don’t need the ball in their hands before hitting a shot. This would up Wall’s assists total’s to over 10. McGee is perfect to play alongside Randolph too on defense and this also makes the Wizards and very formidable rebounding team.

What do you guys think about that trade?
Also what would you think about a trade of Evan Turner straight up for OJ Mayo?

Haha yeah Blatche isn’t the smartest guy in the world. Did you see him try and get a triple double? That was one of the funniest things I have ever saw in my life. But in terms of on court production Blatche passes well, and takes good shots within in the flow of the offense. And seems like the type that would mesh well on most teams because of his offensive versatility.

I never said put Conley on the court w/ Arenas my thought was to bench Conley he will neevr lead them anywhere but I understand they just paid him and probably wont happen.  I also realize Gil’s big contract and straight up trade wouldn’t work for Mayo but was throwing it oout there maybe other pieces or another team can be involved.

Grizz already have a PG in Conley that is doing great. And Arenas wasn’t too well playing off ball so he won’t do well which is what he will have to do. Maybe you could trade him to Detroit for Prince and Hamilton. Hamilton can back up Young or start if Young isn’t ready to start yet. And Prince would be a definite upgrade over Thornton and often injured Howard. This trade would allow Pistons to start Arenas at point and Stuckey ar the 2 which is his position, I think.
