halfdecayedParticipantUtah drops an important one tonight against the Bucks.. I took a look at their schedule and their next 10 games are against the Cavs, Bulls, Knicks, Pistons, OKC, Memphis, Knicks, Houston, Spurs and Dallas. Do you guys think they can stay infront of the Lakers??

CmaddogParticipant16 of next 22 at home as well, and i see Houston remaining hot. So lakers or jazz? How about Kanter of Favors. Really really would be putting up monster numbers with big minutes. What a future

RakkiParticipantLast drive from Hayward was a foul. Bucks play super aggressive on defense and ref was on their side.

bloodshyParticipantThe contact on that play was ridiculous. Still, I think the coaching mistakes were more damaging than the reffing errors. As a Jazz fan I don’t think I’ve ever been so disgusted by my team’s coach. This one was rough. In addition to the Favors debacle and terrible play calling, he gave a combined 52 minutes to Marvin, Foye and Watson, who went 0-15 for 0 points.

halfdecayedParticipantYeah took a look at Golden state’s schedule and Houston’s schedule, it’s pretty clear it’s going to be between Utah and the Lakers. They should have traded Millsap.

bloodshyParticipantThe Jazz have a much harder schedule than the Lakers going forward and they are not playing well. Moreover, chemistry problems are creeping in. Tyrone Corbin is a genuinely terrible coach. His play calling is the worst I’ve seen in years and his substitutions are consistently terrible. Tonight Favors had 23/15 when he went to the bench with two minutes to go in the 3rd. Tyrone Corbin didn’t bring him back in for the rest of the game. Instead, he ran isos of Sap (6’7″ PF) against Larry Sanders (premier blocking big in the game). Sap still had a good game, but Favors’ D was sorely missed. More importantly, the move noticeably pissed Favors off, who didn’t even stay for post-game interviews (and Favors is a chill guy).
The Jazz are imploding and their head coach is at the center of it. And I thought he had potential.

RakkiParticipantWhat is up with Ty Corbin sub pattern, do he still not know who should play. Hire coach Solan back.

TheArtistPaysthePriceParticipantTrey Burke

scliddiardParticipantLove how Kanter and Favors have been playing and even Burks is playing well. With Hayward, Favors, Kanter, and Burks the future looks bright and I’m excited to see it play out. That being said, I’m not sure we can hold of the Lakers and make the playoffs.
I would like to see Trey Burke be available in the draft, we need a quick, penitrating type point guard.0 - Posted on: Tue, 03/05/2013 - 5:40am #752670
chevilicousParticipantI’ve been saying Corbin sucked since he took over the reigns as head coach. He has nothing to offer this team whatsoever. His Subs are completely awful, and even that might be too kind. He has no movement in his offense, and relies way wayyyy to much on running his offense through jefferson which leaves everyone else stagnant. I still think Marvin Williams is getting the shaft in the offense the same way Hayward did in the starting rotation, which led to him flourishing in the second unit. It’s hard for anyone to get their shot when all the guy calls for is a jefferson post up and clear out. The young guys on this team consistently put out more effort on both ends of the floor than any of the vets startign ahead of them, and never get any respect from the coaching staff for doing so.
Alec Burks although not a true PG is head and shoulders above that of tinsley and watson right now with Mo being out. yet he cant get a starting nod or extended minutes despite putting up stellar numbers since Febuary.. Teams dont respect tinsley or watsons ability to shoot and almost dare them to do so. He has favoritism as a coach, and has said as much when saying things like “When i used to play there was always a new hot shot to take my position”, and he coaches with this in mind. What kind of message do you send to your team when you pull out your young kids for making simple mistakes, yet let your veterans play 35+ minutes a night doing the same thing, and putting out no effort on the defensive end? This orginization really needs to take a stand, and do so immediately. For a small market team who wont bring in any big name free agents, it can hardly afford to have the coach to piss off the young talent on the roster to not resigning in a couple years.

TheLastWordParticipantIts safe to say Corbin blew this season by giving minutes to complete scrubs (Marvin Williams, Tinsley, Watson), and giving way too many minutes to Al Jefferson and Foye, at the expense of Kanter and Burks.
Burks benching was the biggest mishap though, except for some spot minutes he was benched the first half of the year but now is really starting to come into his own. He owns the teams best +/- score at +6 and while not ideal at point guard, still has more talent in his fingernail than someone like Earl Watson.
Burks March stats
14.3 / 4.7 / 3.3 with 1.7 steals
51% FG
