OhCanada-ParticipantI love Summer League. Seeing how each player developed is really fun and it puts into perspective just how competitive the highest level of basketball is and how talented the players are. Was looking over the rosters and saw a bunch of names I’ll be following.
Heres some underrated guys I think could be NBA players.
Jacobi Boykins-Orlando
Dikembe Dixson-Milwaukee
Alpha Kaba-Atlanta
Deonte Burton-OKC
JP Tokoto GSW
Petr Cornelie-Denver
Semaj Christon-BRK
Micheal Gbinjie-New York
Chris Boucher-Toronto
Tryggvi Hlinason-Toronto
Malcolm Hill-Utah
Bogdan Bliznyuk-LAC .

BallerScriptParticipantAlpha Kaba is my guy
I would’ve loved him in Boston if it wasn’t for Thies and Williams III0 - Posted on: Fri, 06/29/2018 - 2:40pm #1120874
Dog_ShammdogParticipantI wasn’t too keen on the LAL summer league squad knowing that Lonzo and Kuz were going to be sitting it out, but after seeing the roster, I’m very excited. In particular, outside of the Lakers vets and draft picks, Malik Pope, Johnathan William, Malik newman, Jeffrey Carrol and Joel Berry. I can see Malik Pope turning some heads with his offensive skill level at his size, and Jeffrey Carrol is at the very least going to get ppl out of their seats with his athleticism.
Malik Newman should get a featured role and will benefit from having his college teammate Svi Mikhialiuk on the roster as well. The Lakers really need shooting and shot creation from their backcourt and Newman could bring exactly that. I’m interested to see how many minutes he gets at the point as well, but it may not be any because Joel Berry and Alex Caruso are bonafide floor generals.
Last but not least, I believe Thomas Bryant is poised to have a great summer league and potentially find himself on the Lakers roster if he can continue to build on his great rookie season in the G-League. He’s 6’10" with a 7’5" wingspan, a great motor, solid athleticism, and can even stretch the floor a bit. I think he’s going to take his matchups with the rookie lotto bigs personally and could really do himself a lot of good.

RUDEBOY-ParticipantThomas Bryant sprained his ankle today in practice and could miss the first 2 games of SL.

RUDEBOY-ParticipantByron Mullens( remember him?) is on the Magic’s SL roster. The 7 footer attended Ohio State the year after Oden left. That dude was skilled & athletic, just couldn’t put it 2gether. He played well in the G League. And 2 of my favorite college players Brandon Goodwin & EC Matthews will be on my Grizzlies roster.

whiteflashParticipantWent by BJ. Wondered what happened to him. Hope he sticks, kid could play. Doubt it’ll happen, but I’d like to see Smith and Doncic on the floor together for at least a couple of games.

BogDon_KryptParticipantNot to sound too predictable, but if there’s one guy who can flat on Bogdan on this list, it’s Malcolm Hill

TRC1991ParticipantI really liked Gbinije in college, thought he was a modern day Evan Turner / Shaun Livingston with his 6’7” frame able to handle the rock

LA12ParticipantA little biased here, but I’m hoping Andre Spight on the Denver Nuggets Summer League team could find a roster spot. As an Armenian it would be extremely satisfying to see the first player from our little proud nation finally make it in the league.
