I am an aspiring sports writer who is a junior in highschool. My biggest passion has been journalism since the 4th grade. I am not some idiot who expects to be on sportscenter right out of college. I was wondering if any of you were journalist and had any advice or knew of any internships that were available. Thanks

Since you are in high school, if your not already get involved in the school newspaper, ask to cover sports.Try writing sample articles about games, events, news that happens everyday, and ask your friends to read to see what they think. Go to college and major in journalism, or english(since you need a degree anyway), there will be able to see available interns and get hands on experiance, and possibly hired in which you could move up. The link below has some other tips from ehow. You seem like your really determined which is great, I Wish You The Best Of Luck and am sure you will achieve your goal.

if you really want to work for espn or something, your college major should be communication or journalism (something along that line). they dont accept anyone outside of those majors, which i believe its stupid. i used to write blogs on espn. my blogs were featured on the front page of espn under the sportnation section a couple of times.. and received blogs of the weeks several times. i emailed the editor from espn about a possible chance of internship. however, my major in college is biology. he told me they dont accept anyone whose background is science. however, the editor was nice enough to give me a couple of names from fox and nbc, and told me to ask them instead. but yeah.. once you get into college, espn accepts college summer internships.
