dmo21ParticipantSo the Rockets organization stated the other day that they are planning to make a trade this week. I figure their best trade pieces/package is Knight, Chriss, Hartenstein, Qi and picks. Based on that, I think they have to go after teams that are non-playoff teams and/or have large contracts they want to unload. I figure Houston will take on a longer contract to try to win now. So based on that, here are some possible suitors I have come up with.
Atlanta for Bazemore
Charlotte for Marvin Williams.
Chicago for Holiday and Felicio.
Cleveland for JR Smith.
Miami for James Johnson.
Portland for Harkless or Turner.
Sacramento for Shumpert and Koufus.
See any of these being possible or good fits for both sides?

HobbyOGParticipantI don’t think any of this players will help them over the hump. Baze may be a decent edition but he’s too small to play SF and he’s shooting under 30% from the 3 this year.

festar35ParticipantThey look horrible against Utah tonight, they need depth at every position.

OhCanada-ParticipantJames Johnson would be an absolute problem if he went to Houston and a great fit to give them some defensive personality back.

festar35ParticipantI think if they want to build some depth they will have to be willing to part ways with Eric Gordon, he appears to be the only guy with decent trade value.
They really need a back-up big, a defensive 3/4 & I think another PG wouldn’t be a bad idea.Quick trade scenario:
Indiana: Darren Collison, Tyreke Evans & Thadeus Young for Eric Gordon, Brandon Knight & Marquise Chriss– I know that Houston apparently didnt want to move EJ for Butler, so why for guys who are anywhere near as talented, well I think they are a little more desperate & they NEED depth.
Houston: So they get a back-up PG who very much knows his role & knows CP3 as he started his career with him in New Orleans. Sound playmaker, good shooter & high IQ. Tyreke Evans would fit the Rockets offense a lot better than the Indiana one, he still knows how to attack the rim & there a lot of similarities (down to the beard) between him & Harden that I think D’Antoni could get a lot out of. Young is a very good defensive player, he gives a lot of teams headaches. He & Tucker could be an exceptional defensive duo & although not a great shooter he can knock it down.
C. Capela/Nene
PF. Young/Tucker
SF. Tucker/Ennis
SG. Harden/Evans
PG. Paul/Collison
(The contracts they bring in would be $35mil expiring so if it doesn’t work they free up a lot of cap room)Indiana: Sabonis is quite frankly outplaying Young & Turner seems to be morphing into a very nice defensive player, to the point he can guard out on the perimeter against most of the 4’s in the league. (I look at the Gasol/Jackson combo & could see Sabonis/Turner being very similar).
Collison has been good of late, but Joseph fits in better & Evan’s doesn’t fit the offense.
Gordon is a microwave scorer & would be an awesome addition back in Indiana, doesn’t need the ball to score can be a nice catch n shoot player, him, Bogdanovic & McDermott would make Indiana a lethal trio from outside. Knight is due $16mil next season & Indiana has the room for him. If he gets healthy he could be a nice contributor, if not could organize a buyout or use next year as expiring deal. Chriss is kind of the throw in, could be Qi or Hartenstein here as well.
C. Sabonis/Turner/O’Quinn
PF. Turner/Leaf or Johnson
SF. Bogdanovic/McDermott
SG. Oladipo/Gordon
PG. Joseph/Holiday0 - Posted on: Thu, 12/06/2018 - 1:46pm #1127026
ChammesParticipantPlease Rockets I will take a bag of cheetos to get Batum’s contract off of our hands, i’d be willing to give you Marvin also. I don’t think the Rockets have a chance of even winning a round in the playoffs so these trades likely won’t help all that much.
