JoeWolf1Remember former top 10 prospect Wally Judge? The freakishly athletic and powerful forward who was a pre-season one and done player going into his freshman year. For some reason, I thought of him and looked him up.
He’s only averaging 6.8 ppg and 5.6 rpg as a 22 year old RS Junior at Rutgers.
What happened to this guy? If high schoolers were allowed to come out he would have gone lottery, most likely.

SiggyParticipantHe looks really dumb. Poor instincts, poor reflexes. I think coach Martin broke him at K-State. In HS he was really fluid and explosive. Now he plays like a robot.
I think his problem is that he never had a big man mentality, but was forced into a big man role because of his size. In HS he was more of a face up, open court athlete who liked to play in space. Now he’s just asked to mix it up on the interior.0 - Posted on: Wed, 02/27/2013 - 10:47am #751152
alingeParticipantOn rivals other 5 stars that year included, Latavious Williams, Renardo Sidney, Dante Taylor, Mouphtaou Yarou, Milton Jennings, Daniel Orton, Tiny Gallon, Abdul Gaddy. Fair to say 2009 recruiting class produced some pretty decent busts

Scotty5000ParticipantWow forgot about all those 5 stars that flopped. Sidney probably the biggest of them all, literally. Orton, played a year on a stacked UK team and still got drafted with his limited minutes. Hard to call him a bust.

Chilbert arenasParticipantThinking of Wally Judge makes me think of Scotty Hopson for some reason, just guys I thought one day would be in the NBA I guess.

JoeWolf1I think Hopson would have been a 2nd rounder if he wouldn’t have gotten in trouble. I thought of him too the other day when I was thinking of a comparison for Will Clyburn.

surveParticipantits funny that you thought of him today….so did I. I actually was thinking of Elijah Johnson after that monster game and decided to go look at recruits that came out the same year as he and Judge immediately stood out. I think he had a misguided journey. He was supposed to go to Maryland and I am not sure what happened to that….or him for that matter, but he is definitely a bust. I agree about the coach breaking you sometimes. Just as Jennings was mentioned above….he played for the wrong coaches. 6’9″ guys like them with their skillset and athleticism used to be 1st round locks. Now they are lucky if they get drafted.

BasketballJunkie224Participantlol well i first start off by saying that he was never going to be a lottery pick..esp if he entered straight from HS. Il admit i thought he would make it into the league too but it wasnt like he was a sure fire prospect. He is underachieving yes but its not like ‘oh my god i thought this guy was gonna be an all star someday wtf happened’ not the biggest suprise ever know what i mean?

sportspolymathParticipantAs I thought he would be very good at Rutgers. I watched then the other day and thought Kadeem Jack looked like a better prospect.
